Dear CCS Family, Many of you have probably received news of another tragic school shooting today –-multiple students and a teacher have been killed at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas. We know events like this are not only tragic and painful, but they can lead to anxiety and fear that may be felt by our entire school community. We understand that our students and staff may need additional support at this time. Our school counselors are available to assist as needed. In light of this tragic event, Catawba County Schools will continue to evaluate our own safety protocols to ensure that the highest level of security measures are in place at our campuses. Thank you for your patience and understanding with all our safety measures put in place for school entry. We also want to thank our Sheriff’s Department and Maiden PD for their continued support at all of our schools. Our hearts are with the educators, students, and families of Robb Elementary Schools and with the entire Uvalde community in Texas during this incredibly tragic time.
