  • Heading into the Holidays...3-hour Early Release on ...

    Dear CCS Families,   As we head into the end of our first semester and our upcoming holidays, we want to remind you that our winter break begins with a 3-HOUR EARLY RELEASE for students on Wednesday, December 21st. (Quest will operate on Dec. 21). Students will return to school on Monday, January 9, 2023 (Challenger students will return on Tuesday, January 10). FULL DAY QUEST sites will be open from 6 am until 6 pm on December 22.  ALL QUEST SITES will be CLOSED from Friday, December 23, through Monday, January 2nd. FULL DAY QUEST sites will be open from Tuesday, January 3, through Friday, January 6th.   From all of us to all of our Catawba County Schools Families, we wish you a wonderful holiday season and a Happy New Year!

    Good afternoon, CCS 6th-12th grade families,  A document was given to your child at school this afternoon that provides them with information and resources on child abuse and neglect. North Carolina Legislation requires that we distribute this letter to all students in grades 6-12. The survey closes at 5:00 PM on October 10. Thank you and have a great evening! The N.C. Department of Public Instruction (DPI) has convened an advisory group to  redesign the state’s school performance grades between now and January 2023.  Now, we are seeking  your input on how school performance should be evaluated. Please weigh in by taking this brief survey.  Take the survey. This survey will close at 5 p.m. on Monday, October 10.   All results will be used anonymously in aggregate. Once the survey closes, the results will be posted publicly, and a final report will be provided to DPI ahead of its next meeting in October. This Friday, September 23, 2022,  is a Mandated Teacher Workday for our ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS ONLY for teacher professional development. Our middle schools and high schools will operate school on a normal schedule. Our QUEST childcare program will operate from 6:00am until 6:00pm at the following locations: Blackburn, Catawba, Tuttle, Clyde Campbell, Lyle Creek, Snow Creek, St. Stephens, and Startown.  A ALL PARENTS (K-12)...
