Memorial Day - Letter from the Superintendent
Dear Pascack Valley Regional Families: I hope this letter finds you well as we move into the warmer spring months and the final quarter of our school year. We have already utilized one day for a snow emergency, which leaves us with one additional day remaining on our calendar. Barring any other emergency closures, we intend to return the one unused emergency day around Memorial Day weekend. To that end, the district will be closed on Friday, May 23, 2025 as well as the already schedule closure on Memorial Day, May 26, 2025. We hope the students enjoy the upcoming week off during their spring break and are able to rest and gear up for our final push to the end of the 2024-2025 school year! If you have any questions regarding our school calendar, please contact the main office of your respective school. Sincerely, Sarah Bilotti, Ed.D.

PVHS’s Jeff Jasper Wins Naismith Award
Pascack Valley High School is pleased to announce that Jeff Jasper, Girls Varsity Basketball Coach, is this year’s recipient of the 2025 Morgan Wootten Award for Lifetime Achievement in Coaching High School Basketball. This prestigious award is presented by the Elks Hoop Shoot and the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame. The award is named after Morgan Wootten, who dedicated 46 years to leading DeMatha Catholic High School in Hyattsville, Maryland. Wooten is one of only five high school coaches enshrined in the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame (Class of 2000). The annual award recognizes two outstanding high school coaches—one for boys’ basketball and one for girls’ basketball. John L. Doleva, President and CEO of the Basketball Hall of Fame, said, “Their [Coach Jasper and Billy Hicks, the Boys Basketball recipient] dedication and excellence in coaching exemplify Morgan Wootten’s enduring legacy in the sport. Beyond their remarkable success on the court, their unwavering commitment has profoundly shaped the lives of their student-athletes. Their influence extends far beyond basketball, inspiring future generations and leaving a lasting impact on their teams and communities.” Coach Jasper has been a trailblazer in New Jersey high school basketball since 1971, leading the Pascack Valley High School girls’ basketball program to historic success. With over 1,100 career wins, he holds the title of winningest girls' basketball coach in New Jersey history. Jasper has led Pascack Valley to six New Jersey state titles (1981-82, ‘89, 2005, ‘08, ‘17), 14 state sectional titles, and 34 league championships. In 2024, Jasper was honored with the inaugural Lifetime Achievement Award from the New Jersey Basketball Coaches Association, further cementing his legacy as one of the most accomplished and respected coaches in the sport’s history. The Morgan Wootten Award recipients are selected by a national committee of Hall of Famers, national high school media members, tournament directors, and others who have made substantial contributions to the game. The 2025 Morgan Wootten Awards for Lifetime Achievement in Coaching High School Basketball will be presented on Tuesday, April 1, at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, as part of the pre-game festivities for the 2025 McDonald’s All-American Game. HVC Presents: Screenagers Under the Influence
Dear Pascack Hills Community, We invite you to join us for a screening of Screenagers: Under the Influence , a documentary that explores the impact of social media, movies, and TV on teens' exposure to vaping, drugs, and alcohol. Unlike films focusing on severe addiction, this documentary examines more common scenarios that shape teens' daily lives, providing valuable insight into how these influences affect their behaviors and choices. The event will take place at Pascack Hills High School this Wednesday, March 12 at 7:00 PM . Following the screening, we are pleased to welcome Dr. Hesney, Director of Special Services, who will lead an informative and impactful discussion to help us better understand these issues and how we can support our children in navigating these challenges. We encourage you to attend this important event. It promises to be an engaging and thought-provoking evening for parents and teens. Please register here . We look forward to seeing you there. Sincerely, The Hills Valley Coalition
