Winter Break A Message to Community and Staff: Happy holidays! With winter break upon us, we encourage you to relax, unwind, and settle into a safe and restful break. The holiday season is a time for togetherness and joy, but it can sometimes bring unwelcome guests, like stress and grief. Some of us may be experiencing the holidays without a loved one. Some of us may be balancing endless to-do lists from shopping to entertaining. While we each celebrate this season’s joys, it’s important to stay mindful, acknowledge our feelings, and reach out for help if needed. To help keep your holidays bright, below are helpful resources. We encourage you to save these resources so you can easily reference them should you or a family member need help. Greetings, Parents/Guardians and Families: SJUSD Equity and Access, SJAAAC, Dr. Jordan Smith, and Let's Rise Above are excited to offer a 2-part series of conferences for (50) 2nd-5th-grade African American Students! The theme is "Legacy of Kings & Queens," and each conference will build upon the other. We will take students on a journey, reflecting on their history and the roots that have already been established, to their part in continuing Legacy. Our primary focus will be on the characteristics that have created Legacy and the characteristics that are needed to continue Legacy. This year, we have partnered with Dr. Jordan Smith, who will inspire and educate your students on the fundamentals of Math. Dr. Smith teaches the fundamentals of Math in a fun and interactive way. We hope you will sign your child up for this 2-part series (January 27, 2023, and March 16, 2024 ) from 9:30 am to 1:00 pm at the San Jacinto District Office located at 2045 S.
