Notice and Invitation for 25-26 District Advisory Co...
Good Evening GUSD Parents, Staff, and Community Members: We are excited and pleased to announce the first District Advisory Committee (DAC) meeting of the year. The DAC is a chance for interested parents, staff, and community members to become an active part of the governance and planning in the district at the district level and to learn more about the successes and challenges we face together in the education of the children of Gridley. This first meeting is primarily informational and organizational so we invite you to come see what it's about and consider pledging to serve on our committee for the year. Even if you cannot make every single meeting (we meet about once a month), we would still love to have you participate as an official member of the group. Meeting will be conducted in English. Please see the attached agenda for list of topics to be covered. Agenda also posted in the window of the GUSD district office at 429 Magnolia. 2025-26 Meeting Dates September 24 October 22 January 28 February 25 March 25 April 29 May 20 Spanish-Speaking Families and Parents of Multilingual Students - We encourage you to attend our English Learner Advisory Committee meeting on October 8. Important Update on Today’s Incident at Gridley Hig...
Dear Gridley Unified Staff and Families, I want to take a moment to address today’s difficult events at Gridley High School. Being informed of a serious injury event is the worst feeling any of us could experience as educators, parents, and community members. Our thoughts are first and foremost with the student who was injured and their family during this incredibly difficult time and our thoughts go out for a full and expedited recovery. I also want to express my deepest gratitude to all those involved in providing a swift and professional response. The way our school community handled the initial response and follow through was commendable, and I could not be more proud. Because of the quick actions of personnel involved, the situation was managed efficiently, and there is no ongoing threat to our students or staff. With that in mind, I want to reassure everyone that Gridley High School will resume on a normal schedule tomorrow. Counselors and support staff will be available for any student or staff member who may need assistance processing today’s events. The safety and well-being of our students remain our highest priority, and we will continue working with law enforcement as they conduct their investigation. Thank you for your continued support, resilience, and trust in our school community. Please take care of yourselves and one another. Sincerely, Justin Kern Superintendent

Gridley Education Foundation Golf Tournament June 10...
Good Evening, I hope this email finds everyone doing well! I wanted to make you aware of the annual Golf Tournament presented by the Gridley Education Foundation that directly supports our schools and students. Participants not only contribute to enhancing student experiences they get to enjoy a great day of fun out on the course. Since its inception, the Gridley Education Foundation has provided the students with Academic Resources, Scholarships, and Athletic Program enhancements to highlight a few. The Gridley Ed Foundation strives to improve the experience of our students in all grades across every facet of education and I am thankful for their efforts. In order to maintain that high level of support they solicit funds through their annual golf tournament. Over the years, our golf tournament has proven to be a great success and has contributed to the school’s programs as I mentioned. This is only possible through the contributions of our sponsors and participants and I am hoping some of you in our community would consider joining us this year. We are looking forward to working with our tournament players and sponsors, both old and new, in making our golf tournament a success once again. I am attaching a sponsorship and golf form and if you have any questions contact information is listed on the brochure. I look forward to seeing you out for a fun day of golf while supporting the continued efforts of the Foundation. Thank you for your consideration, Justin Kern Superintendent
