  • Athletic Event Policy

Spectators of Brooks County ISD Athletics,  We would like to address our guidelines and fan expectations as per UIL and BCISD for all athletic events.  Guidelines and expectations are implemented to ensure a positive experience for spectators, officials, coaches, and  student-athletes.  In an effort to protect student-athletes, coaches, and officials, UIL has implemented procedures to discourage  degrading and/or aggressive behavior towards student-athletes, coaches, officials, and other spectators. If an official  makes a request to a district administrator that a spectator is to be removed from a gym or field due to his/her behavior,  the spectator that is removed will have a meeting with the athletic director, and the administrator in charge at the time of  the incident. This meeting will take place prior to the next UIL event/game. The meeting will determine the duration of  the suspension from I-JIL events for the spectator in question. Furthermore, the administrator in charge at any event may  request that a spectator be removed for unruly behavior towards an official, coach, student-athlete, and/or another  spectator prior to the request from an official. Spectators removed from any event are subject to be suspended for one  event, multiple events, the remainder of the sport season in question, and/or the remainder of the athletic school year.  As well, TASO has implemented a three strike policy. TASO will not send representatives to officiate games in the  event that an official has removed a spectator(s) from the same school district on three different occasions. It is  imperative that we understand that after a third incident, officials can refuse to officiate BClSD/Falfurrias HS/Jr. High  games.  The UIL Sportsmanship Manual states:  - Do not intimidate or ridicule a player, coach, or official before, during or after a contest.  - A ticket is a privilege to observe the contest, not a license to verbally assault others.  - Always respect the integrity and judgment of officials. An official should never be degraded or ridiculed for a  call they make.  - Show respect for the opposing players, coaches, spectators, and support groups.  - Be a positive role model at events through your actions and by censuring those around you whose behavior  is unbecoming.  Clear Bag Policy: - Clear Tote Bag  - I-Gallon Plastic Bag  - Small clutch purse/wallet (approximately the size of a hand, with or without handle or strap, no larger than 4.5"x 6.5")  - Please bring a clear diaper bag  *All bags are subject to inspection prior to entry  Prohibited Items  Knifes  Weapons  Alcohol/ Tobacco/Vape E-Cigarette/Drugs  Outside food or drinks  Children 13 years and younger must be accompanied by an adult at all times.  Everyone's cooperation in following these guidelines and behavior expectations is greatly appreciated. Together, we can  help ensure that our Jerseys and Belles have a positive experience as student-athletes representing Brooks County ISD.  - Scott C. Rogers, Superintendent of Schools
