Cell Phone Policy
Personal Electronic Devices in School As we prepare for the beginning of the school year we wanted to remind everyone that our schools are Cell Free Spaces. Our goal is to create distraction-free learning environments where students can engage in the learning and with each other. Personal electronic devices include cell phones, earbuds, smartwatches, smart glasses, laptops, tablets, and e-readers. (Please see school board policy JFCEB for more details. Additional updates to this policy will be available this fall). These devices are off and away for the entirety of the school day, including lunch. Families can support your student’s presence for learning by recognizing you may not receive an instant response to a message. If you have an emergency, please call the office and we will get messages to your student or bring students to the office for any communication needs. Thank you for helping support the wellbeing of students and their learning.

ALL KIDS EAT FREE!
Mt. Angel School District is eligible for another school year of Community Eligibility Provision (CEP). CEP means that all enrolled students of the Mt. Angel School District are eligible to receive one complete healthy breakfast and lunch at school for no charge to your household each school day of the 25-26 year. No further action is required of you. Your children will be able to participate in these meal programs without having to pay for meals or submit an application. A hearty garden bar, fresh fruits and a variety of vegetables and sides are offered daily. We hope to inspire and encourage all students to make healthy choices regularly. Things to know about Free Breakfast and Lunch Options Families no longer need to complete Free and Reduced lunch applications and submit them to the district. SNAP and Medicaid have allowed us to become CEP eligible, so families should continue to apply for those benefits as they always have. In order for a school breakfast or lunch to meet the USDA free meal criteria, the student must accept the whole meal which includes at least a 1/2 cup of fruits and/or vegetables. Students are not eligible to use CEP status for the purchase of ala carte items such as milk. If a student only accepts milk rather than a complete meal, the milk is not free and the student will be charged $0.50. Money must be available in your students account for ala carte items. 2025-2026 Meal Pricing for Adults and Ala Carte Items Adult Breakfast $3.45 Adult Lunch $4.60 Ala Carte $2.80 (Main Entree of Breakfast or Lunch. Milk sold separately) Milk only or extra milk $.50 Juice only or extra juice $0.50 *All above pricing requires money to be in your Mealtime account before purchase. Meals, foods and beverages sold or served at schools meet state and federal requirements based on the USDA Dietary Guidelines. All meals, foods and beverages are prepared and served by qualified child nutrition professionals. We provide students with access to a variety of affordable and appealing foods that meet the health and nutrition needs of students. Free language assistance, auxiliary aids and/or accommodations are available upon request. Please contact Stacy Kleinschmit at 503-845-2345 or stacy.kleinschmit@masd91.org for more information. Introduction
Dear Mt. Angel Community, I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself as the new Superintendent of the Mt. Angel School District. It is with great enthusiasm that I step into this role, and I want to take this opportunity to express my gratitude and excitement in being able to serve in a community rich in the tradition of putting kids first. There are so many wonderful things happening here and I am excited to continue the tradition of strong education and community involvement. One of the qualities that drew me to Mt. Angel was the very clear priority of putting students at the heart of our work and decision making. Throughout my 26 years as an educator, administrator, and leader, I have remained grounded in a belief that every student deserves an excellent education in an environment where they flourish. I look forward to bringing that same belief to the work we will do together in Mt. Angel. As I begin this journey, I plan to spend my first few months listening and learning. I want to understand what makes this district special, what challenges we face, and what aspirations we share for the future. I will be engaging with students, families, educators, staff, and community partners to build strong relationships and learn more about what makes our schools and community great. I look forward to meeting many of you in the weeks and months ahead, and I welcome your thoughts, ideas, and hopes for the future of our schools. Thank you for the warm welcome and for your continued support of our students. With gratitude and enthusiasm, Dr. Lisa Harlan Superintendent
