  • Gilford School District Update

    Good day, I am writing to provide an update on information related to the Gilford School District. Celebrations: Just prior to February vacation GHS Principal Sperazzo was notified that GHS Nurse, Meg Jenkins had been named the 2026 New Hampshire School Nurse of the Year.  Meg has worked in the district for over 30 years and has made connections with many families in the district.  Meg is involved at the state and national level with school nursing and is a valuable member of our staff.  We are fortunate to have such a knowledgeable school nurse in our district.   At the March School Board meeting, Dr. Danielle Bolduc was honored with the Gilford Champion for Children recognition for her work as the GES Principal.   Danielle has worked to make meaningful connections with families, learners, and staff members.  Danielle had a vision of building a Sugar Shack at GES and made that vision come true with community, parental, and staff support.   Danielle has been recognized as the Lakes Region Champion for Children and hopeful in May she will be named the New Hampshire Champion for Children.   Budget and vote: We are excited that the voters in Gilford passed our proposed 2026-2027 budget.  Thank you for your continued support.  The teacher’s agreement was also approved by the voters and we appreciate your support.   In the new teacher’s agreement, the calendar days will be changed.  We will have four less early release days and two full days of professional development added.   I will propose an updated 2026-2027 calendar to the Board at the April School Board meeting.   Policy updates: The Gilford School Board approved three policies at their March 2, 2026 meeting.   JG – Assignment of Students to Classes and Grade Levels IHCA – Summer Activities IHBI – Alternative Learning Programs & Individual Plans   Important Dates: Gilford Wellness Committee meeting virtual and SAU Office March 24, 2026 at 2:15 PM Gil-Gil AREA Subcommittee meeting Gilford SAU Conference Room March 25, 2026 at 5:30 PM Gilford Elementary School Pancake Breakfast March 29, 2026 at 8:00 AM Gilford School Board meeting GHS Library April 6, 2026 at 6:00 PM

  • New Hampshire School Funding Fairness Project presen...

    Good day all, I am writing to share information about an event we will be holding at Gilford High School in the auditorium on  March 5, 2026 at 6:00 PM . This event is to learn more about School Funding in New Hampshire.  I encourage all to attend and learn more about school funding.  There will be a period of time to ask questions as well.  This event is for people across the Lakes Region.   This event will be lead by New Hampshire School Funding Fairness Project.   Here is the link to the organizations website. New Hampshire’s school funding system is putting growing pressure on local taxpayers. Join a community-led, nonpartisan public forum to learn how state funding decisions impact property taxes, schools, and families, and what real solutions could look like. Tuesday, February 19 | 6–8 PM | Laconia High School Auditorium 2026-2027 Approved Calendar: Here  is a copy of the approved 2026-2027 Gilford School District calendar.  The calendar was approved by the Gilford School Board at the January meeting.  There could be changes to the approved calendar based on the new teacher collective bargaining agreement (CBA).  If the CBA is approved by the voters we would have less early release dates and two more full day professional development days.   • Gilford School District Update

    Good day all, I am writing to provide an update from the Gilford School District. Administrative Retirement: On Monday night the Gilford School Board accepted the retirement letter from GES Principal Dr. Bolduc.  Danielle has been the principal at GES for the past 14 years and started her teaching career 35 years ago.  Danielle has been a fixture in the Gilford community for the past 14 years connecting with learners, parents, community members and staff.  We are sad to see Danielle leave us but happy for her and her next adventure.  We will be advertising for the GES Principal position starting this weekend.   Remote learning survey: We had a remote learning day on January 26, 2026 in the Gilford School District.  As the superintendent I keep a close eye on the school calendar, specifically the last day of school and the impacts on our high school graduation date.   Please take a few moments to take this brief survey about Remote Learning days in Gilford.   • Gilford School District Update

    Good day all, I am writing to provide a brief update on information related to the Gilford School District. I would also like to wish everyone a Happy New Year! Thank you to everyone that supported our schools through the month of December by attending events, helping out in schools, and supporting all of the staff and learners. December is a busy and exciting time in our schools, your partnership is such an important part of the educational experience for all learners. Policy Update: The Gilford School Board approved and updated several policies at their December meeting. JICL-R – Student Acceptable Use Agreement EBB – School Safety EBBB – Accident Reports JLCK – Physical and Emotional Well-Being of Students IMAH – Daily Physical Activity JLCF – Wellness JLIA – Supervision of Students Gilford Got Lunch: GHS Nurse, Meg Jenkins is involved with the local Gilford Got Lunch Program and has reported that Gilford got Lunch is taking registrations for winter. Here is the link to Gilford Got Lunch. Budget Update: The Gilford Budget Committee has approved the School Board’s proposed budget for 2026-2027. We will review warrant articles and other items leftover with the Budget Committee on January 8, 2026. 2026-2027 Calendar Update: I shared a draft 2026-2027 calendar with the Gilford School Board at the December meeting. I will review the proposed calendar with the school board in January and I anticipate having a calendar to share in January 2026. Because Labor Day 2026 is so late in September we are proposing starting school before Labor Day next year.
