Spring Testing Begins May 4th
All three of our schools will begin administering the Georgia Milestones Thursday, May 4th. Attendance is important during testing. All students enrolled in grades 3-8 and high school Biology, US History, American Literature, and Algebra 1 are required to participate in testing by the state of Georgia. Please try to avoid scheduling things during testing when it can be avoided. We provide free breakfast for students on the days that they test. It is important that all students are on time so that we can make sure everyone has an opportunity to eat breakfast, take a restroom break, and relax prior to beginning the test. This helps ensure that all students have a relaxed atmosphere to do their best on the test. Thank you in advance for helping your student arrive at school on time each day of testing. Please see the virtual newsletter below for valuable information about testing. Please interact with this newsletter. Parents who interact with the newsletter and sign the virtual sign in sheet at the bottom of the newsletter will be entered in the 4th quarter drawing for Amazon gift cards. Thank you for participating and encouraging your student to be present and to do their best to show what they know on the Georgia Milestones. Young Georgia Authors RESA Winner
Towns County Elementary School Third Grader Aria Byrne's story "Haunted House for Sale" won our district level writing contest for 3rd grade in January. Her story was then sent to Pioneer RESA for the RESA level contest. Her story won at the RESA level and will now go to the state Young Georgia Authors competition . Winning at both the district and RESA levels is quite an accomplishment. We are so proud of Aria and wish her the best as her story represents Towns County Schools at the state level. Way to go Aria!
