  • Subject: Updated Bus Routes for the Upcoming School...

Dear Parents, Caregivers, and Students, The updated bus routes for the upcoming school year are now available on our district website . Please review them carefully, as some stops have been eliminated to shorten the time students spend on the bus each day. Reducing the number of stops in the downtown areas will also help ease traffic congestion and backups caused by frequent stops. We are actively working with school administration and First Student to enhance the quality of bus rides for both students and drivers. Additionally, we are partnering with local law enforcement to address vehicles that fail to stop for our buses. Thanks to the work of the School Board and the Bus Committee, these changes have been recommended and implemented to improve the overall bus riding experience. If you have any questions about the routes, please contact Christine Vayda at  christine.vayda@eppingsd.org . Thank you for your attention to this matter and for your continued support. I look forward to seeing everyone on the first day of school Tuesday, August 26! Sincerely,  Bill Furbush  Proud Superintendent of Epping Schools

  • Paving and Parking Traffic

Hello Epping Community! We hope everyone is having a great start to the summer and staying cool today.  As part of our summer projects our paving around the school has begun.  Today the SAU was paved but is not ready to be driven on. Please do not drive on the fresh pavement until Monday.  Prospect Street off Main Street was also paved today. You may drive on this street to access both schools for the next few days.  Prescott Rd entrance to the Middle High School should be avoided to all traffic until Monday. If you are needing to access the Middle High School or Elementary, please use Prospect Street off Main Street to access all the buildings through the Elementary parking lot entrance.   You should call ahead if you are needing to make an appointment with the school.  Thank you and stay cool!  Christine Vayda SAU#14  Epping School District Business Administrator  603-679-8003 EXT: 7104

  • Superintendent Update: Last Day of School 2025!

Dear Epping Community, As we wrap up another wonderful school year, I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you. I am incredibly proud of our district, our dedicated educators, our remarkable students, and our supportive staff. We are truly fortunate to be part of such a vibrant community. I would like to extend my warmest congratulations to our boys' baseball team for their outstanding achievement in winning the state championship on Sunday with an impressive score of 9-0 against Woodsville ! What an exciting game it was! A special shoutout to first-year coach Josh Martin for leading the team through this remarkable season. We truly are  Small But Mighty ! I also want to inform you about several significant projects taking place this summer, thanks to the dedicated efforts of our school board, facilities department, and administration. We will be replacing the roof and rooftop air ventilation units at EMHS — a much-needed upgrade! Our facilities department will be relieved to no longer need to put out trash cans to collect rainwater or replace stained ceiling tiles. Our students and staff deserve quality facilities, and this project has been years in the making. Thank you to everyone who made this possible for our students. In addition, the  SAU and EMHS parking lots will also be replaced this summer. Please note that we have moved all activities to EES to accommodate the construction projects and ensure the safety of our students. We anticipate that all projects will be completed in time for the start of the school year! Lastly, I want to reflect on what a special last day today was. The EES assembly celebrated two extraordinary retirees. I wish to recognize Lisa Kopoulos for her 12 years of service as a Title 1 educator, and to thank Julia Masury for her  22 years of service as a Kindergarten Teacher. We have been incredibly fortunate to have these two wonderful educators foster the growth and creativity of our students. They have been invaluable assets to our team and will be greatly missed. Thank you all for a wonderful year and for your efforts and contributions that make Epping so special. I wish you all a fantastic summer! Sincerely, Bill Furbush Proud Superintendent of Epping Schools 2025 Inflatable Race EES - Enjoy! https://youtu.be/SyhP83mRii4

  • Superintendent Update: Memorial Day Note to the Comm...

Dear Epping Community, As we embark on this long Memorial Day weekend, I encourage each of you to take a moment to reflect on the true meaning of this day. Whether you find yourself at a parade, enjoying a cookout, gathering with family, or simply taking a quiet moment alone, please remember that Memorial Day is a time to honor the brave men and women of our armed services who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. I want to thank Chef Moss for setting up the Missing Man/Fallen Comrade tables in our buildings. These tables are a powerful educational tool for our students, highlighting the significance and meaning behind this solemn remembrance. The Missing Man Table, or Fallen Comrade Table, is a ceremonial display used in military dining facilities and during official functions to honor U.S. service members who have fallen, missing, or been imprisoned. It reminds them of their sacrifice and the ongoing efforts to account for those who remain unaccounted for. I am grateful every year that we continue this tradition to honor the fallen and educate our students about the meaning of this solemn display. Let us honor their memory and sacrifice this Memorial Day by taking  one  simple  moment and reflecting on their bravery and sacrifice in service to our country. Wishing everyone a meaningful and reflective weekend. Warm regards, Bill Furbush Proud Superintendent of Epping Schools

  • Superintendent Update: Public Hearing Article 5

Dear Epping Community, I am expressing my sincere appreciation to everyone who attended and participated in the recent Deliberative Session. Your engagement and input are vital to our community's decision-making process, and we value your contributions. As the law requires, we will hold a public hearing regarding the petition warrant article tomorrow. This hearing is an essential opportunity for anyone in the community to voice their thoughts about the article. It is important to note that, unlike the deliberative session, the warrant article cannot be amended at this time and will appear as it was amended during the deliberative session.  If you wish to speak on this matter, you are invited to join the School Board on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at 6:30 PM at Town Hall . The Board meeting will commence immediately following the public hearing. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me. Your voice matters, and we look forward to hearing from you! Warm regards, Bill Furbush Proud Superintendent of Epping Schools Article 5 Shall we adopt the provisions of RSA 32:5-e, and implement a budget cap whereby the school board shall not submit a recommended budget that is higher than $45,000 dollars per pupil cost times the average daily membership in residence of the school district as of October 1 of the year immediately preceding the proposed budget year plus an annual increase for inflation using CPI-U for the Boston-Cambridge-Newton MA-NH area published by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics as of January 1. Requires a 3/5ths majority of the school district.  Board voted 5-0 not to recommend this article.

  • Superintendent Update: Remote Learning Preparation

Subject: Remote Learning Preparation  Dear Epping Community, As we continue to prioritize the safety and education of our students, we want to ensure you are informed about our plans in case of inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances.  Our goal is to have students in school tomorrow or operate on a two-hour delay. However, should safety concerns prevent either of these options, we will implement a remote learning day. To prepare for this possibility, we will send students home with the materials and information they need to participate in remote learning successfully. This proactive step ensures that your child will have the resources they need to continue their education, even if we cannot meet in person.  Principals will send out the remote learning day schedules and expectations to prepare for this possibility. We will communicate any changes through our usual channels, including email, phone, and social media. Most likely, this decision will not be made until 5:00 a.m. tomorrow, given the unpredictability of the weather!  Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we work together to support our students' safety and education.  Sincerely,  Bill Furbush Proud Superintendent of Epping Schools
