  • Portrait of a Graduate

Hello Families,   We are excited to share a new resource that reflects our commitment to preparing students for success beyond graduation: the New York State Education Department’s Portrait of a Graduate. This framework represents a shared vision of what it means to be a successful graduate in today’s world. It goes beyond academic achievement to emphasize essential skills and attributes such as critical thinking, creativity, effective communication, collaboration, cultural and social awareness, and lifelong learning.   The Portrait of a Graduate serves as a guide for preparing students not only for college and careers, but also for active citizenship and life in a rapidly changing society. By integrating these competencies into our teaching and learning, we aim to ensure that every PCSD student is equipped to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.   We invite you to visit our website to learn more about this initiative and how it will shape the educational experiences of your children. Together, we can support our students in becoming well-rounded, future-ready individuals.   https://pcsdportraitofagraduate.my.canva.site/ Have a great day, Carrie Zales Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction

  • Digital Equity Survey 25-26

NY State Education Department requires schools to collect information on the availability and quality of digital resources for students and teachers in New York State via an on-line survey. The survey will help the State Education Department and the Board of Regents to identify the gaps and challenges in achieving digital equity and to develop strategies and policies to address them.  It is mandatory and confidential, and the results will not identify individual respondents or schools.  The survey will take about 10 minutes to complete. Please complete one survey for each student in your household who attends school in the district. Thank you so much for your time!
