SNAP Updates
I hope that the following information will clarify some questions regarding the federal SNAP program. SNAP Benefit Issuance Suspended for November Official Suspension of November Benefits: FNS has formally suspended all November 2025 SNAP benefit allotments, effective November 1, 2025, until sufficient federal funding is provided. Please note this is a suspension of issuance , not a cancellation of the program. SNAP EBT Cards will work in November: Any money already on a household's EBT card is safe and available. The suspension only stops the new November benefits from being added. SNAP participants can still use their cards to buy food with their existing balance at any store that accepts SNAP. Key Clarifications from the FNS Memo: Application and Eligibility Unaffected: The suspension does not affect the determination of eligibility for applicants. People should keep applying. Recertifications Continue: Households whose certification periods expire in November must still be recertified. Retroactive Benefits Guaranteed: Once federal funding is available and the suspension is lifted, FNS will notify states to resume issuing benefits, and households shall receive retroactive benefits . Emergency Food Pantries May Be Available for SNAP Households: State Contingency Plan: The state plans to partner with the New Hampshire Food Bank to increase SNAP recipients' access to food through the NH Food Bank's mobile food pantry program and traditional food pantries located across the State. Upon approval by the Fiscal Committee and Executive Council, the Food Bank will provide additional food to pantries specifically for SNAP participants in locations identified by the State. Additional Help: For anyone needing food, call 211 or utilize the Food Bank's Food Map to find local food pantries.

Winnisquam Regional School District Receives Generou...
The Winnisquam Regional School District is incredibly grateful for the overwhelming support received from several community organizations. The Whiteman-Davidson Unit 49 Auxiliary presented a generous check to Family and Student Support Liaison Jacqui McGettigan for the Winnisquam Cares Fund. This fund provides critical assistance for winter clothing and other essential items to students within the district. "This substantial donation will make a real difference in the lives of many students and families," said Mrs. McGettigan. "We are incredibly grateful for the Whiteman-Davidson American Legion Auxiliary Unit 49’s ongoing support." In addition, St. Vincent De Paul-Laconia and the Tilton Branch of the Franklin Savings Bank donated a variety of backpacks and school supplies for WRSD students. Their generosity has not only filled backpacks but also filled hearts with hope and encouragement. Many families struggle to afford the necessary supplies for their children's education. These generous donations have made a significant difference in the lives of our students. We have been able to provide essential tools that will help students succeed in their studies.
