Hometown Salute Parade Senior Class 2024
The LaFayette Athletic Booster Club is currently planning a hometown salute parade honoring LaFayette’s Senior Class of 2024 on Wednesday, June 12, beginning at 6 p.m. and originating at the Onondaga Nation Arena. As a reminder, the parade is open to all members of this year’s graduating class, not just athletes. We would love for all seniors, including all those from BOCES, the Big Picture School, and the high school to join the parade! The parade will start at the Onondaga Nation Arena, and the club is asking that seniors (and their drivers) meet there and begin to line up their vehicles behind the Onondaga Nation fire truck at 5:40 p.m. A New York State Trooper escort will be on hand, stopping traffic at Tully Farms Road and the four corners in town. The planned route from there: Take a right out of the arena onto Route 11, and then a left onto route 11a Head down the nation main road (11a) all the way to take a right onto Tully Farms Road Facing the TOOLON field, take a left and up the hill past Grimshaw, entering the village Hang a left onto Route 11, with the final destination being the high school There, seniors will be greeted by a Hawaiian Ice truck, which will offer them complimentary ice cream or frozen shaved ice! Additional family members may purchase these sweet treats as well, but note that the truck only accepts cash. Seniors: Please remember to sit on the right side of the vehicle you’re riding in (or at least, somewhere other than the driver's seat). This parade is about you, so try to find a driver! Feel free to decorate your vehicle, hang balloons, or include whatever other family-friendly expressions you see fit. We hope to see the community turn out big for the senior parade!Wednesday, May 29 2024
