Hart District Chess Tournament, Saturday, February 7 Internship opportunity for high school students - Assemblywoman Schiavo's Office Our District Office is now accepting applications for our Spring 2026 Internship Program . If you're a current high school or college student with a passion for public service, politics, and community work, this is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in state government while serving the people of the Santa Clarita and Northwest San Fernando Valleys. District interns are an essential part of our outreach and constituent services team. You'll support our work connecting the community to the legislative efforts happening in Sacramento, help plan local events, assist with casework, and communicate with residents throughout our district. 5th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr., Unity Walk Essay...

Hart District students are invited to participate in the 5th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr., Unity Walk Essay Contest. This year's essay topic is:  How can nonviolent action strengthen communities and heal a divided nation? Cash prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners in the junior high and high school divisions. The 1st place winner from each division will be invited to read an excerpt from their essay at the MLK Unity Walk at Central Park on January 19.  Submissions are due by December 1. The Hart District believes that no child should go hungry. Let's come together to support Hart District Families in need at the upcoming Hart District/SCV Food Pantry Pop-up Food Drive on November 15 and Food Giveaway on November 16. Food drop off - Saturday November 15, 7am-11am Food pick up - Sunday November 16, 8am-12pm - All Hart District families welcome! Placerita Junior High School 25015 N. Newhall Ave. How can you help? 1.  Drop off non-perishable/non-refrigerated food items at Placerita Junior High on Saturday, November 15 between 7am-11 am. 2. Please bring extra reusable bags! 3.
