Superintendent Minute with Dr. Vierra
Dear Hart District Families, On this week’s Superintendent Minute, Dr. Vierra sits down with Hart District parent Nicolle Just to chat about a new California initiative that allows our schools to seek reimbursement from private insurance providers and Medi-Cal for certain health and wellness services already provided on our campuses. Here is the best part for our families: • 100% Free: There is absolutely no cost to parents. • No Impact on Benefits: This will not affect your family’s current insurance coverage or benefits. • Privacy is Protected: Information is handled in compliance with HIPAA and FERPA. • No Changes for Students: It does not enroll your child in any new services. It’s simply a win-win that helps our district get extra funding to keep supporting our students! Watch to learn more about how this helps our school community. https://youtu.be/X4htxR7tw7g

Strengthening Student Wellness: A New Partnership fo...
Dear Hart District Families, Students thrive when they feel safe, supported, and emotionally healthy. Every day across the Hart District schools, students rely on services families value and expect - from school counselors, nurses, mental health professionals, social workers, and wellness staff who help them navigate stress, anxiety, personal challenges, and barriers to learning. The Hart District is participating in a new California initiative that allows schools to seek reimbursement from Medi-Cal and private insurance providers for certain eligible services students may already receive at school. What we’re asking from families During summer online registration, please take one minute to provide your student’s health insurance information. This simple step helps the Hart District access additional funding for services already being provided - strengthening student support services, early intervention, and mental health support across our schools. What this means for your family: No cost to you: No co-pays, deductibles, or surprise bills. Your benefits are protected: Providing insurance information does not reduce or exhaust your family’s private mental health coverage for outside providers. Your privacy is protected: All information is handled securely and in compliance with HIPAA and FERPA laws. No new services: Providing this information does not enroll your child in therapy or any additional services. Why it matters When families participate, more funding stays in our schools to preserve the critical supports students depend on every day - helping them stay healthy, engaged, and ready to learn. Your one-minute response helps protect these services for your child and for students across the Hart District. Thank you for partnering with us to support a stronger, healthier school community.
