Around The Campus Fall Festival Fall Festival has been scheduled for Saturday, October 21. Selections for kings and queens are underway, and teachers will be meeting soon to decide what activities will be chosen for fundraising. Parents can expect to start seeing tickets and various order forms coming home with their student(s). Grandparents Day Grandparents are invited to join us on Tuesday, September 19th for breakfast, pictures, and the book fair. All visitors will check in at the upper elementary building before gathering in the lunchroom.Kindergarten-3rd grade students will meet for breakfast at 8:05. Students in upper elementary are welcome to join grandparents as well. After breakfast, grandparents can join students in the lower elementary to purchase books from the book fair, visit the photo booth, and look at the artwork on display. Every student will go home with a free book that day courtesy of The Hornets’ Book Bus. New Elementary Facebook Page A new elementary Facebook page has been created for the elementary school. Parents of elementary students are encouraged to follow "South Side Bee Branch Elementary" The ACT The next ACT exam is in October. The deadline to register without a late fee is Friday, September 22. Remember that, if you are a junior or senior, you are eligible for a free test and may pick up a fee waiver from Mrs. Wilson. Parents, This week begins our fifth week of school. We wanted to take a moment to update you on some of the district's plans and upcoming events. Please take a moment to read the information below. If you have any questions, please call your student's building secretary. We hope to see you at parent-teacher conferences this Thursday, September 14. UPCOMING EVENTS Here are some things that will be happening this week: 9/11 - Volleyball game at St. Joseph starting at 4:30. 9/12 - Volleyball game at Rose Bud starting at 4:30 9/12 - Fall sports pictures for Yearbook 9/13 - Yearbook pictures 9/14 - Parent/Teacher Conferences; school will dismiss at 1 p.m and conferences begin at 2 p.m. 9/15 - No School ANNOUNCEMENTS Yearbooks are on sale now. Purchase before September 15 to save $5. There is also a back-to-school personalization bundle available at a discounted price. Forms can be found in the office. The regular yearbook price is $45. In other yearbook-related news, the deadline to place a senior ad in the 23-24 yearbook is Wednesday, November 1. Fall Festival has been scheduled for Saturday, October 21. The After-School Program is a program aimed to help students with their skills and homework. Students will meet at 3:30-4:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting on September 18, 2023. The next ACT exam is in October. The deadline to register without a late fee is Friday, September 22. First Week of School
Parents, Just wanted to give you a quick update on how the first week of school went for our incredible students. Even though the year started off with unexpected an event, the students settled into their routines very quickly. There were lots of smiles and many happy reunions between old friends. Let's continue to cheer on our students as they continue to navigate this school year. Stay tuned for more updates and stories from the school year – we can't wait to share all the wonderful moments that are in store. In an effort to keep parents up to date, the lunch menu for next week and the yearbook order form have been attached. In other announcements, school pictures will be taken on Wednesday, September 13. The photographer has asked that students not wear green on picture day. Jostens will be at the high school on Wednesday, August 23 to preview graduation announcements and caps and gowns for seniors and Wednesday, August 30 to preview senior rings for the juniors.
