BA Summer Sports
BA will offer Summer Sports in the following Cheerleading Football Volleyball Wrestling Practice dates and times will be determined at a later time. Please sign up in Powerschool through the parent portal. https://ba.colchesterct.org/departments/athletics Registration will close on Friday June 6th noon time. NO EXCEPTIONS. PHYSICAL EXAMS: A physical exam must be current within the past 13 months and on file with the nurse. Boys and Girls Soccer sign ups will be through Colchester Park and Rec.

Copy of Student Athlete Celebratory Signing Day
Bacon Academy will host a Student Athlete Celebratory Signing Day on Friday May 2 3 th between 11am-2pm in the Gym Lobby. All interested senior athletes should email Mr. Burke at kburke@colchesterct.org with a time request. Athletes will be scheduled for 10 minute time slots. Time slots will be given on a first-come, first-served basis. Time slot requests should be made on the hour and every 10 minutes. Ex: 12pm, 12:10pm etc. All athletes and guests will enter and exit the gym lobby from the back parking lot. Please use the paved path between the gym and portables to enter the gym lobby. Please bring any equipment, hats, props or other items you want on the table for your pictures.

Important Update Regarding PowerSchool Data Security
Dear families and educators of the Colchester Learning community: We are writing to inform you of a recent development related to the cybersecurity incident PowerSchool experienced in December 2024. PowerSchool is aware that a threat actor has reached out to multiple school district customers in an attempt to extort them using data from the previously reported December 2024 incident. PowerSchool does not believe this is a new incident. Please be assured that both PowerSchool and Colchester Public Schools are taking this situation very seriously. PowerSchool has informed us they are working with cybersecurity experts to thoroughly assess this development and have reported it to law enforcement in both Canada and the United States. As a reminder, following that incident PowerSchool also offered and made widely available credit monitoring and identity protection services for a period of two years to students and faculty of Colchester Public Schools regardless of whether they were individually involved. As is always the case with these situations, there was a risk that the bad actors would not delete the data they stole, despite assurances and evidence that were provided to PowerSchool. We wanted to share this update as part of our ongoing commitment to transparency. We remain committed to working closely with PowerSchool and law enforcement to provide support in any way we can.
