Eastside Drop-Off Procedure
Parents, The safety of your children is our utmost concern. In order to ensure drop-offs and pickups run efficiently, we need everyone working together and following procedures. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at your convenience. Thank you for your assistance with this matter. We look forward to a GREAT school year! Jonathan Jones - Principal DROP-OFFS For their safety, students are only allowed to be dropped off in the designated drop-off area. There is only one lane for drop-offs in the mornings. Students may not be dropped off before 7:30 am. Teachers arrive for duty at 7:30 am each morning to greet your child as they exit the vehicle. Students arriving after 8:10am will need to enter through the front doors. The tardy bell rings at 8:15am. If possible, please have your child exit from the backseat/driver’s side of your vehicle. This will allow us to safely unload 3-4 cars at one time and keep children from having to cross in front of vehicles. Please make sure your child has all needed items in hand before you stop, so they are able to exit the vehicle quickly. THE ACCESS ROAD BEHIND THE CAFETERIA IS FOR BUS AND STAFF USE ONLY. STUDENTS MAY NOT BE DROPPED OFF IN THE CAFETERIA OR TEACHER PARKING LOT. PICKUPS Please be sure to follow the route indicated on the above map. Please do not begin 2nd lane of pickup traffic until you are on school property. For safety reasons, both lanes on Comanche St. should never be blocked. Please refrain from waving your child over to your vehicle or stopping to get their attention. Students have been instructed to watch for your vehicle. We will release them when duty teachers are sure all traffic has stopped. Please display the name of the child or children you are picking up from your rearview mirror. *PLEASE, always take a second look around your vehicle for any straggling kiddos before you take off. *FOR THE SAFETY OF ALL STUDENTS AND DUTY TEACHERS, PLEASE REFRAIN FROM USING YOUR CELL PHONE DURING DROP-OFF AND PICKUP TIMES.

ACTION REQUESTED - Economically Disadvantaged Form
Parents, we need your help! Attached to this message is the Economically Disadvantaged Form . Each year the State of Oklahoma requires that we identify students who may need extra help due to financial challenges. It is VERY IMPORTANT that we receive the attached form so that we can provide accurate information to the state. Failing to get accurate records, reduces the ability for us to get all the funding Sallisaw Schools are entitled to. This helps us: Share Resources: Schools use the form to give students what they need for learning, like books, technology, or supplies. Get Funding: The information on the form can help schools get money to support programs that help students do well in school. Join Programs: Students who need help can join special programs that make learning easier, like tutoring or mentoring. Reduce Fees: Families who have trouble paying for things like trips or sports can get discounts or even not pay at all. Keep Track: Schools use the form to count how many students need extra support. This helps them plan and make things fair for everyone. Offer Help: The form helps schools connect families with extra support services, like health resources or community programs. In short, this form helps us assist students who might be going through a tough time financially. Please complete the form and submit it to your childs homeroom teacher or the school secretary. It also makes sure that all students have a great chance of being successful. Thanks again, and GO BLACK DIAMONDS! Steve Barrett Superintendent of Schools
