Pendergast Community Connection for the Week of 3-30...

Joaquin and Lewis are back - this time taking their talents to the Big Apple!  In this exciting new episode, our student hosts travel to New York City to connect with former Pendergast District alumnus Omar Vazquez, now serving as Assistant Head Coach of Visual Merchandising + Retail Brand at Nike’s House of Innovation. From walking the same halls to working in one of the most iconic retail spaces in the world, Omar shares his journey, insights, and inspiration with the next generation of leaders.  You won’t want to miss this one - big dreams, big city, and a powerful reminder of what’s possible! 2026 West-MEC Career Camp Sign Up Your 6th-8th grade student can be a part of a select group of students to engage in hands-on, interactive career camps this summer. Students will participate in hands-on activities, and learn about future careers with industry-standard equipment at the West-MEC Central Campus  during Career Camp.  Students will explore coding, law & public safety, precision machining and welding technology. The West-MEC Central Campus registration fee will be waived (the program is FREE) for the first 40 Pendergast Elementary School District middle school students who register for the Central Campus Career Camp using this discount code:                   CMP-UTXBPIFWM-51     There are also three other Summer West-MEC Career Camp locations currently accepting registration: the Northeast Campus in Phoenix; the Northwest Campus in Surprise; and the Southwest campus in Buckeye. It’s one more way we’re supporting healthy minds and strong families in our community. Please reach out to the Cafeteria Manager at your school for more information. Pendergast Family Resource Center The Pendergast Family Resource Center offers monthly adult-child classes, family events, parent workshops, playgroups, and support groups for families with children aged birth to five. In order to keep class size manageable, registration is required for most activities. Monthly calendars have links to registration forms. Simply choose the activity of interest, click on the link, and complete the registration form. A PFRC team member will email and text confirmation of class participation on the Friday prior to the week of your chosen activity.
