    HHS Weekly Update Mr. Gillespie Conference Week 10/19-10/23 All parents should have received a conference scheduling invitation from their student’s Advisor through ParentSquare. If you have not, or if you have experienced technical difficulties, please check with you student’s advisor. Conferences will be required for students who meet one or more of the following criteria: Have an F or multiple Ds Have attendance below 85% Are missing any SchooLinks assignments that were due September 30 Are not currently on track to graduate We will follow a format similar to recent years, with all teachers available in the gym. This allows families to easily connect with multiple teachers during the same visit. We encourage all families to take advantage of this opportunity to check in on their student’s progress and work together with teachers to support a successful school year. Early Release Friday 10/16 A reminder that Friday, 10/16 and the week of 10/19-10/23 will all be early release days.     Tieton Elementary Update Principal's Message October 9, 2026 TES Scottie Sprint Fundraiser Exceeds Our Goal!! We are very excited to announce that our students and families raised $12,586.84 for our Scottie Sprint fundraiser. This is the highest amount we have raised in my four years at TES and it totally blew away our goal of $10,000. We want to give a HUGE Thank You to all who donated and helped our students raise so much money this year. This money will fund many prizes and rewards for positive academic and behavioral recognition, class field trips, ASB supplies, and of course the many prizes students earned by reaching specific amounts. We can share that students that earned the Green and Bronze Levels will get their prizes on Monday and Wednesday of next week (10/12 and 10/14). Those include the Laffy Taffy/Skittles and 20 minutes of extra recess with an ice cream bar. Other fundraiser prizes (Like the pizza party, T-shirts, afternoon movie/popcorn and movie trip to The Majestic) will take place in November and dates will be shared via Parent Square. Again, THANK YOU to the incredible TES Community for your generosity and support!! Student Recognition for September On Wednesday, we held our first PBIS/Student of the Month Assembly and were able to recognize some amazing students for their attendance and academic achievements. For the month of August and September we had 54 students with perfect attendance (26% of all students). Our best attending class of the month was Mrs. Panattoni's (Chynoweth) 5th grade class, with an attendance rate of 93.45%. It is also great to share that every single classroom had at least 90% attendance for the first full month of school. That is definitely a trend we want to continue!! We also had our PBIS raffle where students were able to use some of their PBIS points that they have earned by meeting and exceeding our behavioral expectations to have a chance to win some fun prizes. Our September students of the month were: 3rd Grade: Hayden Chronister, Emryss Garcia, Royce Martinez. 4th Grade: Emily Carrillo, Omar Madrigal, Alison Mendez. 5th Grade: Noah Jimenez, Brianna Velasquez, Alan Ventura. The photos of our Students of the Month and Perfect Attendance students are all attached to this newsletter. Parent Teacher Conference Sign Ups Tieton Elementary will hold its fall parent teacher conferences the week of October 19-23. All parents should have received a Parent Square message from their student's teacher with an appointment sign up sheet. Parents can see the available times and sign up through Parent Square. Everyday during conference week, TES will run our early release schedule with school running from 8:15 AM to 11:45 AM daily. We look forward to meeting with every TES parent to discuss the academic and social progress of their students. Fall Intersession- October 26-30 We will have our first intersession of the school year at the end of the month of October (26-30). Our theme is "Falling in Love with Math!" Invitation letters were sent home on Tuesday. Classes for the Fall Intersession will be held at Marcus Whitman-Cowiche Elementary (MWC) as we have done in previous years. Classes will run from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM. Breakfast and lunch will be served and regular bus routes will be available. If you are interested in your child attending this special learning opportunity, please make sure to return the bottom portion of the invitation letter as soon as possible as space is limited. The due date for these invitations is Monday, Oct. 12. All students accepted will be on a first come, first serve basis.     Tieton Elementary Update Principal's Message October 2, 2026 Donation and Pledge Collection for TES Fundraiser ends Oct. 9th This week we began collecting the pledges and donations that students received for our Scottie Sprints fundraising event. Thus far, we have collected $4,700. Our goal is $10,000 this year so we are just a little less than half way there. Next week is the last week for students to bring their packets with their collected money to school and turn them in to the main office. Students earn different levels of prizes for the money they collect. The list of prizes and amounts needed for each are below: $1.00-$4.99 Laffy Taffy/Skittles $5.00-$19.99 Ice Cream Bar and 20 min. extra recess $20.00-$49.99 Pizza Party $50.00-$74.00 TES T-Shirt $75.00-$99.99 Afternoon movie and activity with Mr. Borland and popcorn $100+ - Movie Field Trip to The Majestic As students move up in reward levels, they get the prizes for all levels gained. Collecting $100 or more, students will get all the prizes listed. Again, next week is our last week to collect money. Students still have that time to add to any donations they have already received if they want to earn certain prizes. Thank you all for your help with our main fundraiser of the year! Please make sure to make an appointment to meet with your teacher's student as part of our partnership in the education of our amazing students! 4th/5th Grade Fair Field Trip On Thursday, our 4th and 5th grade students had the opportunity to attend the Central Washington State Fair through the School "Fair Field Trip" Program, which is designed for students to learn about agriculture through five interactive learning stations featuring hands-on activities, educational presentations, rocket launches, and farm animals. Students also received free ice cream as part of their visit. The feedback of the field trip by the students was overwhelmingly positive.     HHS Weekly Update Mr. Gillespie Homecoming Info The Homecoming football game is tonight! We hope to see a great crowd come out to support our Scotties! 6:40 p.m. – Performance by the award-winning Highland Scotties Marching Band 7:00 p.m. – Kickoff Halftime – Recognition of the Homecoming Court The Homecoming Dance, “Paris in Bloom,” is tomorrow night from 8:00–11:00 p.m. at HHS. Tickets will be available for $20 at the door for students who did not purchase them in advance. A reminder to parents and students that students who leave the dance early will not be allowed to re-enter. We’re looking forward to a fun Homecoming weekend and hope our students enjoy the opportunity to celebrate together and make some great memories!     Tieton Elementary Update Principal's Message September 25, 2026 Another Successful Scottie Sprint! On Thursday, we held our annual Scottie Sprints event at the Highland HS track. The weather turned out great. Not hot but warm and a little sun. All of our students gave an amazing amount of effort as they ran in their relay teams and cheered each other on. We are thankful for the many parents who came out to support and cheer on their students. For our students, it was exciting to be bussed to the high school and run on the track. We also greatly appreciate our district, high school staff, and Mr. Borland that helped make sure this event was a success. A few photos from the event are attached to this message.     Tieton Elementary Update Principal's Message September 18, 2026 Scottie Sprint Fundraiser takes place on Thursday! Our Scottie Sprint Fundraiser event takes place this Thursday, September 24, from 12-2 PM at the HHS Track. Students should wear their class colors and appropriate clothing for this relay running event. Bottled water will be available for students (one per student) and we will also have free drinking water available for everyone. 5th grade will run first, followed by 4th grade and then 3rd grade, with each grade level taking about 25 minutes for their portion. See the flyer below for relay schedule by grade level. This event is our main fundraiser for the year. Our goal is to collect $10,000. This money is used for a wide variety of student PBIS and AR rewards, field trips, and equipment for students. Students earn prizes based on the amount of donations they collect. The fundraiser packets given to students last week contain all the information about the event. Money will not be turned in to the school until after the Scottie Spring event. Come on out and watch our students compete in a fun relay race and raise money at the same time! TES Spirit Week In conjunction with our Scottie Sprint event next week, TES will hold our first Spirit Week of the school year. Students are encouraged to participate and show their spirit by dressing up with the theme or wearing the color of the day.     Tieton Elementary Update Principal's Message September 11, 2026 Scottie Sprints Fundraiser Information Our Scottie Sprint Fundraiser packets were given to students on Wednesday at our Fundraiser Kick-Off Assembly. Our goal this year is to collect $10,000. This money is used for a wide variety of student PBIS and AR rewards, field trips, and equipment for students. Students earn prizes based on the amount of donations they collect. The packets contain all the information about our only big fundraiser of the year. Money will not be turned in to the school until after the Scottie Sprints event, which will take place from 12-2 PM at the HHS Track on September 24. Come on out and watch our students compete in a fun relay race and raise money at the same time! 5th Grade Flag Football We are excited to offer 5th grade students the opportunity to participate in intramural Co-Ed Flag Football with our 6th–8th grade students at Highland Middle School beginning Monday, September 14! Students will ride Bus 16 after school from TES to Highland Middle School. Practices will be held Monday–Friday from 3:45–5:45 PM on the front field at HMS. Students would need to be picked up by parents after practice at HMS. If your student is interested in participating, please see the message sent through Parent Square on Wednesday, Sept. 9th by Kelly Fitzpatrick, Highland Athletic Director, and complete the attached permission form. TES School Pictures- Sept. 22nd All students will have their school portraits taken on Tuesday, September 22nd. Pictures can be purchased online or you can send money with your student when they return their picture packets on Picture Day. The Fall Portrait online preorder is now live! You can access your preorder gallery through the following link: TES Preorder link Picture packets were sent home with students earlier this week. Popcorn Fridays Friday, September 25th is our first Popcorn Friday of the year. Students wanting popcorn on Popcorn Fridays need to purchase a popcorn card for $5. Forms were given to students earlier this week and are still available in the main office. This money is due on Friday, September 18th. We are unable to collect money after this date. Unlike prior years, students cannot pay for individual days so now is the time to purchase a popcorn card.
