GUG Community News August 2025 - Welcome Back!
GUG Community News Welcome Back! Dear GUG Community, What a joy it was to see so many smiling, happy faces at our summer events these past two weeks! We hope your summer was filled with joy, rest, and memorable moments. As we gear up to welcome students back on September 2nd, this edition of the GUG Community News is here to keep you in the loop with all the latest happenings, upcoming events, and school updates. We are looking forward to seeing you at an upcoming orientation or welcome back school event. Cheers to starting another exciting school year together! In collaboration, Erin Acosta Director of Family Engagement & Communications School Events Calendars Updated Family Handbooks & School Policies Our updated Family Handbooks are now available and contain all the essential information you need for the school year, including the new Cell Phone and Electronic Device policy. Please take some time to review it with your child so that everyone is familiar with our policies and expectations. School Uniforms All students should be in uniform each day of school. Please review the uniform guidelines on our website. Growing Up Green uniforms can be purchased online at the French Toast Website. Our PTOs also host Recycled Uniform Sales throughout the year. GUG I LIC grades K – 8 Code: QS5XYAS GUG II Jamaica grades K – 8 Code: QS61EHQ Yellow School Bussing We will receive our bussing information in late August from the OPT (Office of Pupil Transportation). At that time they will confirm bus routes and stops. ParentSquare Messages Update Starting in August, many of the text messages you receive from our school will come from regular 10-digit phone numbers. This will make it easier to see who is messaging you. For example, a message from your child’s teacher will come from a different phone number than a message from the school office. When you receive a message from one of these new 10-digit numbers, please save it to your contacts. Be part of the PTO! All GUG families are automatically part of their school’s PTO. We invite you to join our fun, dedicated group of parent volunteers working together to help our students grow, learn, and thrive. Whether you have a little time or a lot, there’s a place for you!
