Weather Update: Castleberry ISD Closed Through Tuesd...
Dear Castleberry ISD Families and Staff, Due to ongoing winter weather and unsafe travel conditions, Castleberry ISD will remain closed through Tuesday, Jan. 27. All athletics, ACE programs, and district/campus events scheduled for Tuesday are canceled or will be rescheduled. With extremely low temperatures continuing in the forecast, this decision was made with safety as the priority — accounting for students who may walk to school or wait at bus stops, as well as staff who may commute significant distances. Updates regarding event cancellations or rescheduled dates will be posted on the district website as information becomes available. Please note that Castleberry ISD will be in session on Monday, Feb. 16 and Tuesday, Feb. 17 . These days are designated as Weather Make-Up Days on the board-approved 2025–2026 academic calendar. This is required by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) to ensure weather-related closures do not impact required instructional time. District leadership will continue to monitor weather conditions and will make decisions about reopening based on the safety of our students, staff, and families. Thank you for your flexibility, understanding, and continued partnership. Please take care, stay warm, and remain safe. Castleberry ISD WWW.CASTLEBERRYISD.NET

This simulation requires students to provide 24/7 care, responding to the baby's needs for feeding, rocking, and changing. While students look forward to this project all year, the "reality" often sets in quickly. From students realizing just how much work a crying infant can be to others gaining a new appreciation for their own parents, the project continues to be one of our most impactful learning experiences in the CTE department. Bridging the Gap: Future Teachers in Action There is no substitute for real-world experience! This past quarter, our students had a fantastic time participating in field-based learning at A.V. Cato Elementary . It was a joy to see our students transition from "learners" to "leaders" as they practiced their teaching skills under the wing of A.V. Cato’s expert staff. Not only did our students get to apply what they’ve learned in class, but they also gained firsthand knowledge of what it takes to run a successful classroom. Thank you to the A.V. Cato teachers for being such incredible mentors to our future teachers! Building Foundations: Construction & Electrical Excellence Michelle Hoselton Our Construction Technology and Electrical students are busy building the skills that power our community! This semester, the focus is on professional mastery as students work toward earning their NCCER (National Center for Construction Education and Research) certifications . These nationally recognized credentials give our graduates a significant head start in the high-demand trades industry. Beyond the classroom, our SkillsUSA team is gearing up for the District Competition. We are proud to announce that we have two specialists representing Castleberry ISD this year: Masonry: One student will put their precision and craftsmanship to the test. Electrical: Four students will compete in a technical challenge focused on circuitry and wiring. These competitions allow our students to showcase their technical proficiency and work ethic in front of industry professionals. We are incredibly proud of their dedication to mastering these essential trades! Planting Seeds for the Future: 7th Grade Pathway Night Steven Riewe In January, Castleberry High School and Irma Marsh Middle School joined forces to host a successful 7th Grade Parent Night . This event served as a roadmap for our younger students, helping them envision their future careers before they even reach high school. The evening was a true showcase of student talent: A Taste of Culinary Arts: Our Culinary Arts teacher and students prepared and served a delicious spaghetti dinner for all attending families, giving guests a firsthand look (and taste) of the high-level skills taught in our kitchens. Pathway Exploration: Families explored the various CTE pathways available at CISD, from health sciences to business and trades. Strategic Planning: Counselors and teachers provided personalized guidance to help students align their 8th-grade course selections with their long-term career interests and goals. By starting these conversations in 7th grade, we ensure our students have a clear, confident path toward graduation and beyond. Thank you to all the families who joined us to start planning for the Class of 2031! Computer Science, Yearbook, and AV TECH Kimberly Phillips It is an absolute powerhouse of productivity in our halls right now! The Yearbook crew is working their magic to craft a stunningly creative layout, while our AV Tech stars are officially crushing their final Illustrator projects and gearing up to dive into the world of Photoshop. Not to be outdone, the Computer Science wizards are deep in "code mode," building an epic multiplayer maze game that is sure to be a hit. From design to development, our students are leveling up! Castleberry collegiate academy Michelle Hoselton Our newest cohort of ECHS students is off to an amazing start! This semester marks a significant milestone for our underclassmen: Freshmen have just completed their very first college course through Tarrant County College (TCC), and our Sophomores have successfully finished their first college-level computer science course. Students in this rigorous program have the unique opportunity to earn an Associate Degree concurrently with their high school diploma. By bridging the gap between high school and higher education, we are providing our students with a massive head start on their professional journeys. Applications for the 2026-27 cohort recently closed, and we are excited to begin the interview process. This program continues to transform student lives and the academic dynamic of Castleberry High School. We are incredibly proud of our ECHS scholars and look forward to seeing all they will achieve in the future!
