Week 34 Talk Sup Review and Preview
Talk Sup Week 34 May 11, 2026 Good morning Sayreville! We wish all our moms a happy belated Mother’s Day and hope that everyone had a relaxing and enjoyable holiday weekend. Please remember that we will dismiss students early next Monday, May 18th so that our staff can participate in professional development. District News On January 26th, the district officially opened registration for our free 2026-27 Full-Day Project Before Preschool and Kindergarten Programs . Therefore, parents of ALL eligible ( must be 3 for preschool and 5 for kindergarten by September 30, 2026 ) preschool and kindergarten students are invited to visit our website in order to register via Oncourse Connect , our online registration software. The link to student registration will be clearly identified on our district website homepage ( www.sayrevillek12.net ) as “ Student Registration .” Once on this registration page, you can obtain pertinent information regarding the registration of all students including preschool and kindergarten students, and you can begin completing the online registration application by clicking on one of the following links noted in the 2026-2027 Project Before and Kindergarten drop down menu: New Student Registration Link or Returning Student Registration. In the Schools Thanks to our magnificent instructional staff, our students had a very productive and fun week of learning last week. Throughout the district, our school communities, especially our PTOs and administrators, took the time to recognize, celebrate, and thank our amazing educators in Sayreville. SUES At the upper elementary school, students in Ms. Cook's and Ms. Coyle’s classes combined to explore angles and measurement after reading the story What’s Your Angle, Pythagoras? . Arleth At the Arleth School, the newly created Arleth Giving Committee, with 16 wonderful members of the Arleth faculty working hard to organize food drives and make them fun and exciting school events, coordinated a "Cereal-ously Amazing Food Drive" and collected 460 boxes in three weeks. For each box a student brought to school, they received a cereal piece to add to the school's cereal hallway display. The staff and students celebrated this amazing achievement by holding a Cereal-ously Amazing Domino Assembly while wearing cozy pajamas. The cereal boxes spelled out "Arleth" and a shape of a star. The cereal was donated to Our Lady of Victories, Sayreville Adult Center, and REPLENISH of Middlesex. The Arleth families, staff, and students continue to demonstrate generosity and care during these food drives, making such a difference to those in need. This year, the school held five different food drives. They are thankful for all the relationships they have made with different organizations to donate to in the future. Eisenhower At the Eisenhower School, led by Ms. Galatioto, Art Teacher, staff, students, and their families came out to participate in the Annual Art Show to see the beautiful art🎨.that the students made throughout the year. After the Art Show, the 3rd Grade Chorus, led by Ms. Gugliotta, performed magnificently during the Spring Concert. Furthermore, students in Ms. Bellina's class had a blast during their Mother's Day celebration. Finally, students and staff celebrated this week's Exceptional Eagles. Truman At the Truman School, led by Ms. Rice, Music Teacher, students in the 3rd Grade Chorus performed wonderfully during their Spring Concert. They literally filled the school with beautiful music. Wilson At the Wilson School, the first-grade team of teachers continued the tradition of the Wilson Pop-Up Shop, an initiative dedicated to supporting the school community in meaningful ways. Through this event, they provided Wilson families with access to essential resources, including food items, a variety of books to encourage literacy, gently used and new clothing, and important home supplies. In the weeks leading up to the event, the team worked collaboratively to gather donations by reaching out to staff, families, and local community partners. They look forward to hosting this event every year In Project Before, at the Cheesequake School, you can’t bug students, as they loved learning about caterpillars and spring patterns. 😊🐛❤️ They also had a ton of fun participating in the annual Autism Walk 2026 where all the very generous proceeds donated by staff and student families will go to POAC. Go Team Project Before! ❤️💛💙 Bombers Beyond In the Bombers Beyond 18-21-Year-Old program, last week was a milestone for the Brew Crew. Tasked by the PTOs of six different schools (Eisenhower, Wilson, SMS, Arleth, SUES, and Project Before), the team rose to the challenge of a high-volume "Teacher Appreciation" week. With over 300 orders on the books, the crew demonstrated incredible teamwork, as they managed the entire supply chain: tracking inventory, preparing goods, and coordinating deliveries to ensure every teacher was recognized. Their dedication and focus throughout the week was nothing short of AMAZING and was quite inspiring. Visual & Performing Arts In visual and performing arts, we commend and congratulate SWMHS art student, Gabriel De Jesus, whose painting “Self Lit” was chosen by a team of curators for an exhibition at the Bruce Museum in Greenwich, CT this summer. Selected from hundreds of entries, Gabe’s painting will be exhibited alongside the works of 19 other talented students from across the tri-state area. This distinction is a significant and well-deserved achievement, as well as a testament to Gabe’s talent and dedication. Athletics In athletics, last week the SWMHS Flag Football Team played Union High School for the Silver Division Title. The girls won 6-0, clinched The Big Central Silver Division, and continued their undefeated streak of 8-0. Later in the week, they played against Hunterdon Central. The girls came back from losing 12-0 at half time, to winning 13-12 within the last 10 seconds of the game. Hence, they are still undefeated with a record of 9-0. This week, they will be playing Monroe Township High School on Wednesday for their last regular season game before they head to playoffs. On the diamond, the SWMHS Softball Team continued their dominance by defeating five different opponents last week and expanding their win streak to nine consecutive games. They are now a remarkable 18-1 on the season. The SWMHS Baseball Team also won three consecutive games last week over Monroe, South Plainfield, and Carteret High Schools to improve their record to 9-10. On the lacrosse field, the SWMHS Girls Lacrosse Team also won consecutive games over St. Thomas Aquinas and J.P. Stevens High Schools to even out their season record at 8-8. Likewise, the Boys Lacrosse Team defeated Neptune and North Brunswick High Schools to improve their record to 8-7. On the court, the SWMHS Boys Tennis Team captured their fifth match win of the season after beating Dunellen High School. Lastly, on the links, the SWMHS Girls Golf Team defeated Metuchen and Mother Seton high Schools to improve their record on the season to 7-6. Win or lose, all our amazing student athletes continued to compete fiercely and demonstrate the teamwork and sportsmanship that makes us all proud to be Bombers. Thus, we thank them and their coaches for their hard work, dedication, and the way they represent SWMHS and our community.
