School Safety Rollout Week 1: Law Enforcement Presen...
As we prepare for the upcoming school year, we want to share the active steps we are taking to ensure our campuses are secure. This week, we are highlighting our on-campus security personnel. Law Enforcement Presence: We are proud to partner with our local Sheriff's Office to ensure a sworn deputy or school resource officer (SRO) is stationed on every single campus. These officers are here not only to protect our students but also to build positive, trusting relationships with them. The Guardian Program: In addition to law enforcement, our district actively participates in the Coach Aaron Feis Guardian Program . Guardians are approved staff members who do not replace law enforcement, but serve as an immediate, vital line of defense. To qualify, these individuals must undergo rigorous psychological evaluations, background checks, drug testing, and over 144 hours of comprehensive active-threat and firearms training provided directly by the Sheriff's office. We are incredibly grateful to these individuals for their commitment to protecting our children. Next week, we will discuss our perimeter security and visitor screening protocols.
