Dear Families, As we move into April, we are in the homestretch of the school year! Spring break is just around the corner, and before we know it, we’ll be celebrating graduations and year-end achievements. Thank you for your ongoing support in helping our students stay engaged and focused during this important time. EXCELLENCE OF ELKHART We have so much to celebrate this month! Pierre Moran Middle School received a $20,000 donation from Kellogg and Kroger to invest in their athletic program. We are incredibly grateful for community partners who support our students. EHS Robotics represented Elkhart Schools on the national stage at the First Robotics Competition in Maryland! Their dedication, innovation, and teamwork continue to make us proud. State-Level Competitions: This winter, many of our student-athletes and performers have excelled at the state level, including gymnastics, swimming, wrestling, vocal jazz, and instrumental jazz. Our students continue to shine among the best in Indiana! Elementary Reading Success: As our IREAD assessments conclude, we are seeing a trend of improved reading scores. A huge thank you to our elementary teachers and staff for their dedication to literacy growth. And thank you, parents, for reading to your children at home. It takes a team effort to educate our students. MIDDLE SCHOOL TRANSITION UPDATE Our 6th grade transition to middle school continues to progress. Renovations are well underway, bringing exciting upgrades to each building. Parents attending the upcoming Middle School Parent Nights will even have the opportunity to view some of the renovated classrooms! 2025-26 STUDENT REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN A reminder to all families: Registration for the 2025-26 school year is now open! All students—new and returning—must be registered for next year. This process helps us plan for staffing, transportation, and classroom needs. Once registered, families can request transportation if they live outside of the walk zones. UPCOMING EVENTS April 7-11: Spring Break April 17: Kindergarten Roundup April 21, 23, 24: Middle School Parent Nights We appreciate your partnership in making Elkhart Community Schools a place of excellence. Thank you for your support and commitment to your child’s education. Let’s finish the school year strong! Stay Great, Dr. Larry Huff
