Pre Registration Message from NHS Principal to 8th g...
Dear Parent and Guardians of the Class of 2027, Now is the time for current 8th graders and their families to begin focusing on the transition to high school and building a schedule of courses for the next school year. We ask all involved to fully engage in the process and select courses that meet the learning needs of each individual student. Each student will select seven (7) full year courses and two (2) alternate courses. Please consider the course descriptions in the Program of Studies , the current level of learning skill, and commitment to study outside of the school day. In the coming weeks, I will be visiting our sending schools for daytime Student Workshops and evening Parent/Guardian Workshops. Please see this attached Pre Reg Schedule for specific dates. I look forward to meeting the Class of 2027 and Parent/Guardians at the scheduling sessions. Feel free to call the Main Office at 508-255-1505 with any questions. Have a Nauset Day Patrick Clark, Principal

TFM Announcement 2023 from Dr. Robin Millen
Dear Nauset Families: During the week of February 27, 2023, the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education’s (DESE’s) Office of Language Acquisition (OLA) will conduct a Tiered Focused Monitoring Review of Nauset Public Schools. The Office of Language Acquisition reviews each district’s and charter school’s ELE program every six years to monitor compliance with federal and state English learner education laws and regulations. Areas of review will include English learners’ student assessments, identification of English learners; what programs English learners are placed in, parent and community involvement, curriculum and instruction, student support services, licensure requirements for faculty, staff and administration, program plans, and evaluation and recordkeeping. In addition to the onsite visit, parent outreach is an important part of the review process. The district will send a survey to the parents of students whose records the review team examines with links to send information directly to the Department of Secondary and Elementary Education. The survey focuses on key areas of their child’s English learner education program. Survey results will be reviewed by OLA and they will contribute to the monitoring report. Parents and other individuals may call Ms. Judith Magloire, Office of Language Acquisition Review Chairperson, at (781) 338- 3571 to request a telephone interview. If an individual requires an accommodation, such as translation, to participate in an interview, DESE will make the necessary arrangements. Within approximately 60 business days of the onsite visit, the review chairperson will provide the district with a report with information about areas in which the district meets or exceeds regulatory requirements and areas in which the district requires assistance to correct or improve practices. The report will be available to the public at https://www.doe.mass.edu/ele/cpr/ . As always, please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions. Sincerely, Robin A. Millen Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment

Message from NPS Nurse Leader Mary Ellen Reed
Dear Parents and Guardians, Our school community is experiencing an increased number of individuals who are testing positive for Flu or have Flu-like symptoms. To minimize the spread of viruses among children in the school environment, we ask that you take precautions regarding sending your child to school if they are showing signs or symptoms of illness. After an illness, a student may return to school: · After at least 24 hours with no fever (without the use of Tylenol or ibuprofen) · After at least 24 hours without diarrhea or vomiting · After at least 24 hours of antibiotic treatment for strep throat, conjunctivitis, or other contagious bacterial condition Please encourage good hand-washing habits at home, as it remains one of the best ways to prevent illness. It is not too late to get the Flu vaccine. We appreciate your assistance in helping us to ensure that our school environment is safe and healthy for all. I have included some additional information (linked here) regarding cold and flu and the associated symptoms . Please reach out to your school nurse if you have questions regarding your child’s illness. Thank you, Mary Ellen Reed District Nurse Leader, MBA, RN, BSN, NCSN
