The PTO NEEDS YOU! (Yes, Actually You!)
Have you ever observed a school event, noticed a classroom upgrade or a fun family night and thought, " I'm so glad someone put that together! ?'" Well, right now we are running out of ' someones .' Our school's Parent Teacher Organization is in urgent need of new board members for the upcoming school year. Without a full board, we won't be able to fund or host the amazing programs, community events, and teacher appreciation days that we all love so much! Before you close this post thinking "I don't have time for that," let us clear up a few myths. ** Myth #1 : It's a full time job. NOPE! We are all parents, working professionals, and busy people. We share the load so nobody gets overwhelemed. It's true that many hands make light work! ** Myth #2 : You have to be at the school 24/7. Wrong, much of our planning happens via quick texts, or monthly informal meetings. ** Myth #3 : It's a closed clique. Not at all! We are a welcoming group that desperately wants fresh ideas, new perspectives and unique skills! Open roles we need to fill : ** President/CoPresident -Keep us organized and act as the main liason with school administration. ** Vice President -Help the president and oversee special committees. ** Treasurer - Manage our budget, track our fundraising and keep us financially on point! (Perfect for anyone who loves spreadsheets!) ** Secretary -Take minutes at meetings and help keep our calendar in check. Why join? You get a direct say in how we support our teachers, enhance our classrooms, and build a great community for our kids. Plus it's a great way to meet other parents and know exactly what's happening at school. If you care about our school and can spare a few hours a month, then you are qualified! We will train you, support you, and promise not to waste your time! ***Ready to chat or want more info?*** Drop a comment below, send us a direct message, or email us at D91.PTO.Info@gmail.com! Let's keep making our school an amazing place for our kids!

We need your help! Seeking Feedback...
Dear Kelvin Grove Parents and Guardians, As we wrap up the school year, we want to take a moment to thank you for supporting your child’s involvement in our athletic and extracurricular programs. We love seeing our students thrive outside the classroom, and we are always looking for ways to make these experiences even better. We need your help! Please take a few minutes to complete our short Parent Feedback Survey . Your insights on communication, safety and overall experience are incredibly valuable to our planning for next year. The survey will be open through June 5th. Note for Student Feedback: Your child will receive their own separate survey at school. We also want to hear directly from them about their personal experiences on the field, court, or in the club room. Thank you for your time, your continuous support, and for being such a vital part of our school community. Best regards, D91 Administration

Congratulations to the 2026 PAA Scholarship Recipien...
The D91 Parent Athletic Association is proud to recognize four outstanding graduating seniors from Lockport Township High School who are former Kelvin Grove students and past PAA participants. We are proud to support these students as they begin their next chapter after high school. These four scholarships were made possible through the success of this year's D91 Dodgeball Tournament and the continued support of our District 91 community. Thank you to everyone who participated. We're already looking forward to next year's tournament and the opportunity to continue supporting D91 students!

Family STEAM Night was a Success!
Dear D91 Families, I would like to take a moment to thank everyone who attended our Family STEAM Night for Grades 3-8 this past Thursday! We had a great turnout and everything ran very smoothly. The students shared that they had a fabulous time and enjoyed the hands-on learning that took place (along with the prizes, of course)! I would also like to thank the amazing D91 team (Dr. Wilkey, Mr. Jennings, Ms. Flaherty, Mrs. Bruemmer, Mrs. Lakics, Mrs. McClain, Mrs. Cravens, Mrs. Detman, and Ms. Velcich), along with our wonderful custodial staff, the KG Robotics Club, LTHS students, and parent volunteers, who made this night possible. The evening wouldn't have been as successful as it was without their leadership! Enjoy this short video that includes some highlights of the event! Sincerely, Mrs. Georganas D91 Curriculum Coordinator

Livestream the Kindergarten CHICKS Hatching NOW!
Every year, the kindergarten classes learn all about chickens through an embryology unit. Mrs. Preboy brings the unit to life by incubating chicken eggs, ensuring they hatch safely, and allowing students to enjoy the baby chicks for a week until they head to a local farm. The chicks began hatching overnight, and we are anticipating the arrival of the 4th chick this morning. Click the link to see the chicks hatch and watch them at select times during their first week of life. Click Here to Watch the Chicken Livestream!

Do you know a D91 parent or community member that go...
Lockport School District 91 - HIVE Award A Celebration of Exceptional Contributions to the Hornet HIVE The Lockport School District 91 HIVE Award is a program that started last year to specially recognize the above and beyond contributions of the Lockport D91 parents and community members. This award is intended to celebrate truly exceptional contributions that were selflessly made in order to make a positive and meaningful impact on the lives of our students, staff and D91 community - the whole Hornet HIVE. Eligibility and Nominating Process Any community member of District 91 is eligible to receive the HIVE Award. Exceptions include the Board of Education President, Superintendent, and previous award winners. Nominations are accepted via the official online form which can be found on the D91 website or accessed here . Nominations must be submitted in the time period specified below. Nominations submitted after the submission deadline will not be considered by the selection team. The nomination form can be submitted by any District 91 stakeholder; including parents, students, staff, residents, and volunteers. A person cannot nominate himself/herself. The form requires the nominator’s name, contact information, and role in the District. Forms cannot be submitted anonymously. More than one person can contribute to a single nomination; names of additional nominators can be entered in the form field where indicated. The form requires an essay (minimum of 200 words, maximum 500 words), which describes how the nominee made or continues to make exceptional contributions in order to make a positive and meaningful impact on the lives of our students, staff and D91 community - the whole Hornet HIVE. Nominations under or that exceed the word limit will not be considered. Timeline and Winner Selection T he 2026 nomination period will be open Monday, May 4, 2026 - Friday, May 29, 2026 . A selection team will complete a review of the submissions and identify the winner(s) no later than Friday, June 5, 2026. The selection team will include the Board of Education President, Superintendent, and a D91 Teachers Union Leadership representative. The selection team members may not submit a nomination. Prior to the start of the selection process, the Superintendent may consider adjustments to the selection team at his/her discretion. If the same individual is nominated via multiple submissions, all submissions will be considered together in determining winner selection. (The receipt of multiple submissions for a single individual will not increase the likelihood of that person being selected.) Winners will be selected based on the information presented in the submitted form(s) describing how the nominee has demonstrated, in concrete and specific ways, the exceptional contributions made in order to make a positive and meaningful impact on the lives of our students, staff and D91 community. Up to three individuals or groups/organizations may receive the HIVE Award per school year, but there may be some years when no one receives an award. There may be more than one winner from the same community group/organization. The selected winner(s) will be notified via a surprise announcement in early June 2026. Winners will be formally recognized at the beginning of the June 9th Board of Education meeting. Winners will receive a gift from the district as a token of appreciation. People who are nominated but not selected will receive a copy of the nomination submitted on their behalf and a letter from the Superintendent acknowledging their contributions. HIVE NOMINATION FORM
