AASD Celebrates 25th Anniversary of 9/11

Today, Avella Area School District held a special assembly recognizing the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001. Community first responders were present as part of today's remembrance, giving our students the opportunity to honor those who have served and continue to serve our community.   As a lasting symbol of remembrance, the Elementary School, Junior High School, and Senior School will each plant fig and olive trees on campus.  The trees will serve as a living reminder for generations of students to come - symbolizing remembrance, peace, strength, and hope.   A special thank you to the first responders who joined us today, as well as to all of the men and women who serve our community.  We are grateful for your courage, dedication, and willingness to be there when you are needed most.   Today, we remember those whose lives were lost, honor the courage and sacrifice of first responders, and reflect on the importance of coming together as a community.   We remember. We honor. We never forget.

🏈 VARSITY FOOTBALL GAME LOCATION CHANGE

Tonight’s Varsity Football game will now be played at Burgettstown High School due to the power outage at Avella High School. Please note that this is still a home game for the Eagles . Burgettstown is simply allowing us to use their facilities for this evening’s game.  We will use our own announcers, stick crew, clock operator, ticket takers, etc.  🎟️  Ticket Information: • Adults:  $5 • Students:  $3 • Ticket takers will be from Avella, and  all proceeds will go back to our school. Golden Eagle Passes and Season Passes  will be  accepted. ⏰ Game Time: 7:00 PM 📢 MEET THE EAGLES UPDATE The Meet the Eagles event has been cancelled and will be rescheduled for a later date. We will share the new date and details once they are finalized. We appreciate Burgettstown for allowing us to use their facilities and thank everyone for their understanding and continued support of our Eagles! 💙💛🦅

A new school year means a new group of student leaders!  We are excited to introduce the students who will serve as representatives for their classes on the 2026–2027 Student Council. Student Schedules

Hello, You should be receiving your child’s schedule via the mail within the next week.  Please examine it closely and understand that certain schedule changes may be possible.   Please plan on scheduling an appointment with Ms. Scears or Dr. Snoke to discuss any changes you are requesting.   The days for making a schedule change appointment via email or phone, are August 10th and 11th, between 8:00 AM and 3:00 PM.   Schedule change approval will be based on academic considerations.
