Update

Dear Mohawk Families, I want to provide you with an update regarding our school’s sewage system. Currently, our sewage plant has completely frozen over because of the extreme cold temperatures. This has created significant operational challenges for the district. Our system operates with a large holding tank that fills throughout the day and then empties into the sewage plant for processing. Under normal conditions, the holding tank empties about once per hour during the school day. This regular flow is necessary to keep the system functioning properly. This evening, we are having events to increase water flow through the holding tank in hopes of thawing the pumps within the sewage plant. Despite these efforts, with sub-zero temperatures expected overnight, we anticipate continued issues tomorrow morning. The system was not designed to operate in negative temperatures for multiple consecutive days. Because of these conditions, Madison Local Schools will be closed tomorrow, Friday, January 30th. We believe this is the safest and most responsible decision given the circumstances. We appreciate your flexibility and understanding. Please know that repairing and thawing the system is not as simple as bringing in additional heat. The pumps are located in complex areas with multiple components, and we must also comply with all EPA standards during any repair process. Our team is working diligently to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this situation. Spring Musical Information Meeting

There will be an informational meeting Friday, January 9th from 5:30-6:30 pm in the High School Theater for any student interested in participating in the Spring Musical,  Into the Woods , and their parents/guardians. This meeting will address information regarding auditions, clinics, provide materials, what rehearsals will look like, expectations for students & so on. Musical auditions are open to students in grades 9-12, with consideration given to 7 & 8 grade students based on need. Interested 7th & 8th grade students are welcome to attend and learn about the show & audition process. Any student 7-12 grade is allowed to participate in tech/crew. We look forward to seeing you there.

Invitation: District Financial Overview meeting

Madison Local Schools invites all township residents to a Work Session on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at 6:00 PM in the Madison High School Auditorium.  The purpose of this session is to provide an overview of the district’s current financial outlook and the serious challenges we are facing.
