  • NTI announcement this morning

Good Afternoon Families-  I wanted to share a quick update about this morning’s ParentSquare message regarding today’s NTI day. The original message was sent just after 5:00 a.m. As a reminder, ParentSquare now sends messages as app notifications first, followed by a text message if that fails. After hearing from several parents that they didn’t receive a text or an app notification—and discovering that text notifications had been toggled to “off” without them making that change—I pushed a text message to everyone just before 7:00 a.m. to be sure families were informed. Not an ideal time and I apologize if this was the first you were alerted that we were on an NTI day. I’ve also heard from a few families who still didn’t receive a text or app notification. While our delivery report show messages were sent, today’s communication was clearly hit or miss. I’ve shared all of this feedback with ParentSquare so they can investigate further. We’ve also recently learned that for some families—especially those who have recently updated their iPhones—messages were delivered but routed to Spam within the Messages app. You may want to check there as well: How to check Spam messages on an iPhone: - Open the Messages app - Tap Filters at the top of your conversation list (3 lines on updated iphone) - Select Spam - Review messages listed there If a message isn’t spam, mark as "known" For the most reliable delivery, we recommend downloading the ParentSquare app and turning on push notifications. It is also a good idea to review your notification settings and turn text notifications on if that’s your preference: PSQ Notification Settings Even after checking the steps above, you may still not see a clear reason why the early morning notification didn’t come through. Know that you are not alone and we share your frustration! We’ve shared all of this feedback with ParentSquare and are hopeful they’ll be able to identify and resolve the issue. As always, cancellations or delays are also shared on Instagram, Facebook, and local TV stations.  Thank you for your patience and for sharing your feedback—we truly appreciate it. We’re hopeful this morning’s issue was an isolated incident and that future alerts will be delivered as expected. Happy NTI Day #3, Susan Creative Director/Communications Officer susan.taylor@boyle.kyschools.us
