IMPORTANT PLEASE READ: Dismissal Safety Plan for May...
May 16, 2025 Dear Ladue School District families and staff, If we have severe weather this afternoon during dismissal, all Ladue Schools will follow our Severe Weather Dismissal Plan, which includes shelter in place. For your safety, families who might be in the carpool line should join us inside the school in our storm-rated shelter. Dismissal The safety of our students and staff is our top priority; we will notify families as quickly as possible if there are any changes in our dismissal procedures. To ensure everyone’s safety, we ask our families (or those responsible for picking up your child) to be patient during dismissal, as the process may be slower than usual. - Dismissal time may be delayed for Bus Riders . Our Transportation Department will communicate delays with families. - Walkers/Bikers will remain inside until it is safe to release students, or a parent may pick up their child before the inclement weather arrives. - Car Riders will be kept inside the building until the weather is safe to release them. In the event of severe weather, families - Students who attend the Right At School program will be allowed to participate at the usual time. If there are any changes, Right At School will contact families. In the event of a tornado warning, students and staff will take shelter in our school’s storm-rated gymnasiums or other safe spaces until we receive the all-clear message . We ask that you not arrive at school to pick up your student during this time, as we cannot ask staff to leave the shelter or safe location in the building. We understand that families would like to pick up their children; however, we must prioritize the safety of all students and staff in the building. We are committed to keeping you informed and ensuring the safety of our students and staff. We will continue to monitor the weather and follow all safety protocols closely. Thank you for your time and attention. If you have any questions, please contact your child’s school. Please be safe. Sincerely,

Conway Elementary School Named as a Missouri Gold St...
May 14, 2025 Dear Ladue Schools Community, This morning, we received news that the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education named Conway Elementary School a Missouri Gold Star School for 2025 . Congratulations to Principal Dr. Thomas Devitt, teachers, staff, our students, and the entire Conway community on this well-deserved recognition! The Gold Star Award is designed to identify schools performing at a high level academically or making exceptional progress. By receiving the Gold Star recognition from Missouri, Conway Elementary will be one of eight Missouri schools nominated for the National Blue Ribbon Award. The National Blue Ribbon Schools program and the Missouri Gold Star Schools program utilize the same criteria for nomination. In order to recommend a school to the Commissioner of Education as a Missouri Gold Star School, the school must meet the nomination criteria outlined by the U.S. Department of Education for the National Blue Ribbon Schools program, complete the National Blue Ribbon Schools application and the U.S. Department of Education must accept the schools National Blue Ribbon Schools application. The National Blue Ribbon Schools Program recognizes schools whose students achieve very high levels or that make significant progress in closing the achievement gap. The Blue Ribbon Schools Program sets a standard of excellence for all schools striving for the highest level of achievement. This is an exciting way to close out the school year. I couldn’t be more proud of our students and staff. Please join me in congratulating Conway on receiving the 2025 Missouri Gold Star School Award! The district issued a press release to announce this wonderful news to our broader community. Regards,

Health & Safety Update: What You Should Know About t...
May 7, 2024 Dear Ladue Schools Staff and Families, Let me begin by saying that we do not have any reported measles cases in Ladue Schools or our community. However, you may have recently heard on the news about a measles case in an out-of-state resident who visited the St. Louis Aquarium between 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. on April 30. It’s important to note that this is one reported case , and we have already taken proactive measures to maintain the health of our school community. We understand that any news of a contagious illness can be concerning. Our intent is to keep you informed and share the proactive steps we have taken to ensure the health and safety of our school community. Here’s what you should know: High Vaccination Rate: Over 98.6% of our students are vaccinated against measles. The MMR vaccine is highly effective; one dose is 93% effective against measles, and two doses are 97% effective. Limited Risk: No additional intervention is indicated for those who did not visit the St. Louis Aquarium on April 30. Symptom Awareness: We encourage everyone to be aware of measles symptoms. Symptoms typically appear 10-12 days after exposure and include high fever, cough, runny nose, red, watery eyes, followed by a rash in 3-4 days. What We Are Doing: Close Monitoring: We actively monitor the situation and collaborate closely with the Department of Public Health. Preventive Practices: We are reinforcing preventive practices within our schools, including: Encouraging students and staff to stay home when sick. Promoting respiratory hygiene and cough etiquette. Encouraging frequent handwashing. Disinfecting frequently touched surfaces. Immunization Records Review: We are reviewing immunization records to ensure compliance and identify any students or staff who may not have proof of immunity. What You Can Do: Verify Vaccination Status: Please ensure your child’s vaccinations are current. Contact your child’s pediatrician or check their online health portal if unsure. Stay Vigilant: Remain vigilant for any signs of illness in your child. Keep Sick Children Home: If your child develops symptoms, please keep them home and seek medical advice. Inform the School: Notify the school promptly if your child is diagnosed with measles. Information: For additional information, please visit our district website. We are committed to maintaining a safe and healthy environment for our students and staff. We appreciate your partnership in these efforts. Sincerely, Dr. Jim Wipke Superintendent Ann Body, BSN, RN, NCSN District Lead Nurse

Greetings, Ladue Schools Community, I hope this message finds you well. I’m writing to personally invite you to a Special Legislative Update Board Workshop on Tuesday, April 22, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Ladue Horton Watkins High School Multipurpose Room (1201 S. This work session is an opportunity to hear about recent legislative developments that have the potential to impact our students, schools, you (our families), and the broader Ladue Schools community. With so much happening at the state level, staying informed is more important than ever. We believe that a well-informed community is a strong community. Your engagement helps us advocate effectively for what our students need to thrive now and for future generations. Whether you’re a parent, staff member, alum, or community partner, your voice matters—and your presence at this event will make a difference. During the work session, there will be time for updates and discussion, and we welcome your participation as we continue working together to navigate the evolving landscape of public education. Thank you for your continued support. I look forward to seeing you there.
