  • Pike County Schools welcomes Mr. Phillip Birchfield ...

    Mr. Birchfield brings nearly 30 years experience in education.  He began his career as a Language Arts teacher at Pike County Central High School where he taught for nine years also serving as the Language Arts department chair for several years.  He was later named principal of Mullins Elementary School in 2014 working for nine years in that role.  During his time as principal, he was selected to serve on the Kentucky Department of Education's Principals Advisory Council. Following his time at Mullins Elementary, Mr. Birchfield worked at the district level for ten years as the supervisor of instruction and has most recently spent the past two years as the director of personnel for the Pike County School District.  Mr. Birchfield's extensive background and proven experience will be invaluable as he takes on his new role as Assistant Superintendent of Pike County Schools.
