  • SRVUSD Superintendent Newsletter: May 29, 2026

May 29, 2026 Dear Community, As the 2025-2026 school year comes to a close, I am filled with immense gratitude for the journey we have shared. I began this year with a message of giving our students both "roots and wings”. A strong foundation to feel safe and the confidence to soar. Thanks to your dedication and partnership, we have watched our students do exactly that. Together, we achieved incredible things across our district this year. We celebrated increased academic scores in both ELA and Math, we had seven schools recognized as California Distinguished Schools - the highest number for any district in the Bay Area. Survey data confirmed a rise in school connectedness and a steady decrease in student sadness, proving that our focus on the whole child is working. Through PTA Advocacy Day, strong organization of efforts across the district and community, and the "Raise the Base" campaign, we stood together to advocate for vital state funding and ensure long-term stability for our schools. The heart of SRVUSD is its people. I want to extend my deepest thanks to three groups who made this year possible. Thank you to our phenomenal educators, classified staff, and our administrators for pouring your energy and expertise into our classrooms and schools every single day. Our PTA leaders and members contributed a staggering 56,275 volunteer hours this year. Your presence is the ultimate bridge between home and school. To our Education Foundation and their Affiliates, we are so lucky to have your engagement and financial support for our students and our schools.   Whether you are a student transitioning to a new grade, a graduating senior embarking on your next chapter, a staff member who went the extra mile, or a supportive caregiver, I owe you my heartfelt thanks. You are the reason our district remains a place of deep learning, safety, and innovation. Thank you to our community for entrusting us with the academic and social development of your students.
