The LPPS Transportation Department will offer the Louisiana Department of Education School Bus Driver Training Class beginning Monday, October 19, 2026, at 5:00 PM in the Transportation Conference Room. The class will be held October 19-22 and October 26-29 from 5:00PM to 9:00 PM and October 30 from 9:00 AM to Noon. Report Cards & Progress Reports Issued Today
1st 9 Week's Grade Reports Report Cards for K-8 & Progress Reports for 9-12 October 14, 2026 First 9 Week's Grade Reports Are Here! Today, first 9 weeks report cards are being issued for students in grades K–8 and progress reports for 9-12. This is a great opportunity for families and students to celebrate progress, talk about challenges, and set goals for the next nine weeks! 🌟 As you review report cards together: 💬 Start with a conversation. Ask, “What are you most proud of?” and “Where do you think you can improve?” 👏 Celebrate growth and effort. Progress matters! Recognize improvements, good habits, and hard work—not just the final grade. 🎯 Set one or two goals. Choose something specific and achievable for the second nine weeks, such as turning in assignments on time, reading each night, improving attendance, or asking for help when needed. 📅 Make a plan. Check assignments regularly, establish a homework or study routine, and stay aware of upcoming tests and projects. 🤝 Stay connected. If you have questions or concerns, reach out to your child’s teacher. Working together can make a big difference. One quarter down—let’s keep learning, growing, and moving forward! 💙📚

LPSADD Mental Health Video Series Parent Survey
Livingston Parish Students Against Destructive Decisions (LP SADD) is seeking input from parents and caregivers to better understand the mental health needs of youth in our community. This survey is intended to be completed by parents and caregivers only and is not intended for students to complete. Livingston Parish Public Schools is sharing this survey on behalf of LP SADD; the survey was created and is being conducted by LP SADD. Your feedback will help identify the mental health topics that are most important to families in our community. Based on the survey results, LP SADD will develop a 5 part mental health video series for content specific to parents/caregivers and youth. Licensed mental health practitioners will assist in developing the video content to help ensure the information and resources provided are appropriate, accurate, and useful for Livingston Parish families. This 5-question survey should take approximately 5–7 minutes to complete. No personal or identifying information will be collected, and all responses are anonymous. LP SADD will be the only organization with access to survey responses. Livingston Parish Public Schools is assisting solely with the distribution of the survey and will not have access to individual responses. Survey results will be used by LP SADD to guide the development of the video series and help create mental health education and resources that reflect the needs and priorities of youth and families in our community. Progress Reports Issued Today
Progress Reports Are Coming Home! The first progress reports of the school year will be issued today, Wednesday, September 9. This is a great time for students and families to check in, celebrate what’s going well, and make a plan for the rest of the nine weeks! A few ways to make the most of the weeks ahead: ⭐ Review the progress report together and celebrate successes. 🎯 Set one or two realistic goals for the remainder of the grading period. 📚 Check assignments and grades regularly and take care of missing work as soon as possible. 🙋 Ask for help early —students should talk with their teachers when they don’t understand something. ⏰ Create a routine for homework, studying, and preparing for upcoming assignments and tests. 💬 Stay connected —families can reach out to teachers with questions or concerns. Remember, a progress report is just that— a report on progress ! There is still plenty of time to learn, grow, improve, and finish the first nine weeks strong!

Marijuana on Campus is a Crime
Important information for Livingston Parish Schools families and students: Act 305 of the 2026 Regular Legislative Session established new penalties for marijuana possession in school zones. These changes took effect on Aug. 1, 2026, and include increased criminal penalties. LP Schools campuses are drug free zones. The law applies to school property, within 2,000 of school property, and on school buses. Families and students are encouraged to review the attached information to learn more about the law and the penalties associated with violations.
