TEDxKidsElCajon Newsletter #20: 2026 Logo Drop! TED ...
TED Is Coming to San Diego! Exciting news from the world of TED: the global TED Conference is heading to San Diego, with its first event in the city scheduled for early March 2027. After years in Vancouver, TED is bringing its biggest stage back to California, right here to our region. Why San Diego? Because it’s a place where ideas meet, across cultures, industries, creativity, and innovation. The event will have a new format, taking place along the San Diego waterfront and expanding into multiple venues, creating even more opportunities for connection, collaboration, and inspiration. And while the flagship TED event may be a global event, its heart is the same as ours: ideas change everything. Why this matters to TEDxKidsElCajon: This announcement feels especially exciting as we prepare for TEDxKidsElCajon 2026 and our theme, Bridges: Linking Ideas, Building Unity. From global thinkers to student voices, TED events at every level are about building bridges: between people, perspectives, and possibilities. Our students are part of this bigger TED ecosystem, proving that powerful ideas don’t have an age limit. Whether on an international stage or right here in El Cajon, ideas start locally — and can travel anywhere. Read more about TED's announcement here , and about TEDxKidsElCajon here . TEDxKidsElCajon 2026 Bridges Logo Drop! We’re excited to officially reveal the TEDxKidsElCajon 2026 logo for our upcoming theme: Bridges: Linking Ideas, Building Unity. This year’s design represents what TEDxKidsElCajon is all about - ideas connecting across differences, voices coming together, and creativity building understanding within our community and beyond. The bridge symbolizes connection, growth, and the power of ideas of our youth to bring all of us closer. You’ll be seeing this logo throughout the year as we share behind the scenes highlights, speaker spotlights, event updates, and more. Be sure to read the next section to learn more about upcoming opportunities and how you can get involved in TEDxKidsElCajon 2026. Inside TED-Ed Clubs: Building Talks from Idea to Impact Across Cajon Valley, TEDEd Clubs are hard at work developing their Talk Roadmaps, the foundation of a powerful TED-style student talk. This process guides students through every piece of a talk, from shaping a strong idea to understanding how that idea becomes a gift to the audience. Students are identifying real-world issues they are passionate about, asking meaningful questions, and researching thoughtful solutions that can make a genuine impact. Along the way, they’re learning how to organize their thinking, support their ideas with evidence, and communicate with purpose and clarity. These Talk Roadmaps are more than outlines — they’re bridges between curiosity and action, helping students turn their ideas into messages that matter. Applications Opening Soon: Speakers, EMCEEs & Performers for TEDxKidsElCajon 2026 The countdown is on! On January 12, applications will officially open for Speakers, EMCEEs, and Performers for TEDxKidsElCajon 2026, centered around our exciting new theme: Bridges — Linking Ideas, Building Unity. This year, we’re seeking bold ideas, creative voices, and powerful stories that connect people and perspectives. If you are a San Diego East County student with a groundbreaking idea, a natural host who loves engaging an audience, or a performer ready to inspire through art, music, movement, or spoken word, this is your chance. At TEDxKidsElCajon, it's about more than just stepping onto a global stage — it’s about sharing your unique voice, growing your confidence, and contributing to a community that’s dedicated to unity. No matter where you’re starting, we believe your ideas and talents can help build bridges in the world around us. You will make a difference.
