    Board Meeting Highlights November 20, 2025, Regular Meeting   DP Early Childhood Education Receives High Quality Rating Melissa Harrelson, Director of Early Childhood Education, presented the Quality Rating and Improvement System (QRIS), an important part of the statewide Quality Counts CA initiative. The program is designed to ensure that every child in California has access to high-quality early learning experiences that help them grow, thrive, and build a strong foundation for kindergarten and beyond. Through Quality Counts CA, programs focus on three key areas that matter most for young children: Healthy development and school readiness Strong, effective teaching practices Safe, supportive, and engaging learning environments  Director Harrelson shared that the Dos Palos Early Childhood Education Center received a High Quality QRIS Rating for 2024-25. By focusing on these areas, we are working together to create brighter futures for all of our youngest learners. 📊 Click here to view the presentation.   Stadium Press Box Update Consulting Project Manager Fred Parker provided an update on the Stadium Press Box. The existing structural supports were evaluated and found to be significantly deteriorated and in need of replacement. Several options—as well as a proposed timeline for replacement—were presented with the recommendation of removing the existing press box, building a new foundation, and installing a new, prefabricated structure. The plan includes ensuring proper access from the bleachers. We will continue to provide updates as the project progresses. 📊 Click here to view the presentation.   Student Parking Permit and Safe Driving Initiative Dos Palos High School, in partnership with the Dos Palos Police Department, presented a plan for a no-cost student parking permit program focused on campus safety and clear expectations for student drivers. The initiative supports safe traffic flow, risk awareness, and responsible driving habits. Students will also have access to driver education and licensing readiness resources. Specific information about the program expectations and timeline will be communicated to students and families by the High School. 📊 Click here to view the presentation.   Volunteers: Strengthening Our Schools Every Day Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources, David Childers, provided an update on the District’s volunteer process. Volunteers play a vital role in enriching our educational programs, expanding student supervision, and strengthening the partnership between our schools and the community. The District values the time and commitment of every volunteer, and all volunteer efforts are coordinated through the Human Resources department. To date, HR has processed 131 individual volunteers for the 2025–26 school year—many serving across multiple school sites—demonstrating the strong community commitment to supporting our students. 📊 Click here to view the presentation.   LCAP Update: Focus on Academic Achievement Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services Renee Leonard provided an update on our current Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP). The three-year plan outlines district goals, actions, and progress measures aligned with the state’s eight priority areas. Mrs. Leonard provided an overview of Goal 1: Enhancing the Academic Program, with a strong emphasis on early literacy and mathematics instruction. The plan tracks student progress across both state and local indicators, helping ensure that all student groups receive the support they need to succeed. On  Monday, November 24, 2025 , from  9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. , our Food Services Department will provide  5 days of breakfast and lunch  for each eligible child. Meals will include fresh, dry, and frozen items, and  heating/serving instructions will be provided. Children must be present to be eligible for a meal . Children ages 1-18 years of age are eligible.     TONIGHT! Open to the community! Dos Palos High School and the Athletic Department are excited to welcome back Dave Severns, class of 1975 graduate and current NBA coach and scout, on Tuesday, November 4th at 6:30pm in the DPHS Cafeteria. Dave will present "The G.A.M.E. Plan - Great Athletes Must Execute," sharing lessons from his 45 years of experience in both college and professional athletics. He will talk with our student athletes and their families about how to prepare for the challenges of sports and set themselves up for success - both on the court and in life after high school. We encourage all student athletes and families to join us for an inspiring evening of motivation, learning, and preparation for the future!

      Transportation Update – Conference Week Schedule (Oct. 27–31) During Parent-Teacher Conference Week,  Dos Palos Elementary (DPE) and  Mark’s Elementary will have adjusted bus schedules. Please review the times below:   Monday, Tuesday & Thursday (Oct. 27, 28 & 30) DPE: Arrive 1:05 p.m. | Depart 1:15 p.m. Mark’s Elementary: Arrive 1:20 p.m. | Depart 1:30 p.m. Bryant Middle School: Buses arrive around 2:30 p.m. to load; first five buses will also handle Bryant shuttles. Bryant Shuttle Drop-off at Mark’s: 2:40–2:45 p.m. DPHS: Arrive 2:55 p.m.   Wednesday, Oct. 29 & Friday, Oct. 31 Early release for all schools (regular Wednesday schedule).   • September Board Meeting Highlights

    Board Meeting Highlights September 11, 2025, Regular Meeting   Summer School Report Renee Leonard, Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services, reported on this year's Summer School program, which served students from transitional kindergarten to 12th grade at Dos Palos Elementary and Marks Elementary. At Dos Palos High School, the focus was on credit recovery and grade improvement for A-G courses. Click here for the presentation.   Food Services Report Rhonda Sullivan, the Director of Food Services, provided an update on recent renovations at both the Bryant Middle School kitchen and the George Christian Education Center cafeteria. In preparation for the upcoming home games, the concession stand at DPHS football field has been equipped with two new refrigerators and a warmer. Mrs. Sullivan also emphasized that many children in our community were fed during Summer School and through the Seamless Summer Program, thanks to our dedicated food service staff. Click here for the presentation.   Dos Palos Elementary Writing Program The team at Dos Palos Elementary delivered an impressive presentation on the Writing Program, outlining their collaborative efforts to help students become independent writers. Click here for the presentation. 2024-2025 Unaudited Actuals Presentation Between August and September of every school year, school districts “close the books” on the prior year’s budget activities and generate a final unaudited actuals report.
