Welcome SMJUHSD families to another school year! We are pleased to announce that the Santa Maria Joint Union High School District will continue participating in the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program for the 2022-2023 school year. Will I need to submit a meal application to receive free meals? No, Under California Universal Meals, all enrolled students are eligible to receive one healthy breakfast and lunch free of charge every schoolday. However, although meals are free of charge, we kindly request that your household submit a Household Income Data Survey online by October 31st, 2022 at Household Income Data Survey . Why do I need to submit a survey if meals are free? The information collected ensures maximum student support services for our student(s). Our schools receive additional State and Federal funding to support supplemental education programs and services. Your family may receive additional benefits such as college admissions test and application fee waivers and home internet discounts. Will students have the option to purchase additional entrée items? Yes, students will have the option to purchase additional entrée items and bottled water. However, students must have funds in their Titan online family portal. Cash will not be accepted. What is Titan? How do I add funds electronically? The Titan Family portal is a secure online system. If you have not done so already, create a Titan online account at https://family.titank12.com. To get started refer to Titan Parent Portal FAQs . Where do I find information regarding food services? Visit our Food Services page at https://smjuhsdmeals.com . Where do I find P-EBT information? Visit the P-EBT page at https://ca.p-ebt.org or the helpline at 877-328-9677 (Monday–Friday from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.) Thank you very much, The Child Nutrition Department

SANTA MARIA JOINT UNION HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT 2560 SKYWAY DRIVE SANTA MARIA, CA 93455 Santa Maria Joint Union High School District Students, Parents/Guardians, and Staff, The District has developed a survey preparing for the 2022-2023 Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP). The survey structure follows the Eight State Priority areas of the LCAP, which focus on improving learning conditions and improving or increasing learning opportunities for all students and their families. The LCAP Worksheets in English and Spanish provided the alignment of each goal to the proper State Priority. The LCAP Worksheets are for you to reference as needed. The survey is in English and Spanish, as you may choose the option at the top of the screen. The Spanish survey includes Mixteco recording files for our Mixteco students and families. The survey will open from April 27, 2022, through May 11, 2022. Dear SMJUHSD Students and Families, On Tuesday night the SMJUHSD Board of Education approved the attached 2022-23 school year calendar. It will also be available on the district website at this link – https://www.smjuhsd.k12.ca.us/calendar Additionally, due to Senate Bill 328, the “Late School Start Time Bill”, which mandates beginning in the 2022-23 school year that all high schools in California begin instruction no earlier than 8:30 AM (under the belief that high school students function better with a later start to the day), SMJUHSD school site bell schedules will be adjusted to the attached regular schedules. The district understands the challenges for our staff, students, and families that come with this change, and we did not make the determination to implement the schedule without considerable input, including negotiations and input with our bargaining units. We will be evaluating the impacts of the change throughout the year and will consider making adjustments for the 2023-24 school year if necessary. Students will begin their instructional day at 8:30 AM and end the instructional day at 3:55 PM. The District realizes that this change is difficult and wants to thank you in advance for your understanding. Hope you have a restful and enjoyable Spring Break.
Dear Students. The District is conducting research among our parents, students, and staff to help us understand perceptions of the school district so we can better tell our story, continue to strengthen our reputation, and serve and attract future students to our high schools. You can play a critical role in this effort, and your responses will be completely confidential and anonymous. This survey will take you about 10 minutes to complete. The survey is in English and Spanish and includes audio files in Mixteco for each question in the Spanish version of the survey. Please use the following link below to take the survey: https://smjuhsd.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_a3NaSU7nLx34kjc Your opinion is extremely valuable to us, and we sincerely appreciate your time and willingness to share your feedback. Just click on the link provided to submit your feedback by Tuesday, April 12, 2022. Sincerely, Antonio Garcia, Superintendent [Tuesday, Apr 12 at 5:27 PM] Dear Students,
The survey has been extended for one more day. Please take the time to complete the survey as your feedback matters.
