Afternoon bus routes CANCELLED 4/29/25-5/9/25
Our sincere apologies for the inconvenience this will cause, but due to circumstances beyond the district’s control, adjustments to transportation service will be in place from Tuesday, April 29 through Friday, May 9. The district has been able to secure our regular substitute driver for the morning home-to-school routes only and will have to cancel afternoon school-to home routes for these nine school days (4/29/25-5/9/25) . We wanted to give you as much advanced notice as possible and we encourage arrangements to ride share. Please keep us advised of your plans and any circumstances with which you may need assistance by contacting the school site your child attends. Thank you for your patience and support as we work together to find solutions. We will inform you of any changes as soon as possible. Sincerely, Dr. Randy Haggard, Superintendent Mrs. Lisa Melby, Principal-Oak Valley Elementary Mr. Casey McKeen, Principal-Jonata Middle School

Family Resources: Wildfires, Immigration
Dear Buellton School Community, I want to share some resources you may find helpful in challenging times. There are many admirable efforts to provide relief for those impacted by the wildfires, and our schools are discussing the most effective ways for children to show their support for communities experiencing loss. Most of us know someone touched by the recent devastation in Los Angeles County, and you may be able to reach out with these resources designed to support families displaced by disaster, Brightline or the Teen & Youth Helpline . If you are aware of displaced families who need educational services, we want to be a resource any way we can. Our district, and our community stands ready to help our neighbors, (805) 686-2767, option 1, rhaggard@buelltonusd.org. Many of our families are also concerned about issues related to immigration status or enforcement and I have attached resources related to these concerns for those who may need them. We are fully committed to making sure our schools are safe and supportive places for every student. We want to reassure our families that our schools are safe, welcoming spaces for learning every day. These resources are also available on our district website at www.buelltonusd.org . Thank you for the support and compassion demonstrated daily in our community. I appreciate the opportunity to use difficult moments as learning opportunities as we offer a hand of support in difficult times. Dr. Randy Haggard, Superintendent
