Happy Mother's Day from HPCSD!
Dear HPCSD Families and Staff, As we celebrate Mother’s Day, we want to take a moment to honor the incredible mothers, grandmothers, aunts, and mother figures who make the Hyde Park Central School District such a vibrant and special place for our students to grow. To our mothers and mother figures: you are the first teachers, the tireless cheerleaders, and the steady foundation for our children. Whether you are helping with late-night homework, volunteering at school events, or providing the quiet encouragement a student needs to keep going, your impact is immeasurable. We see the sacrifices you make and the love you pour into our community every single day. You don't just support your own children; you help shape the future of Hyde Park. Thank you for: Your endless patience and resilience. Partnering with us to help our students reach their full potential. Being the heart of our homes and our schools. Today, we hope you find time to rest, reflect, and feel the deep appreciation we have for you. On behalf of the entire district, we wish you a day filled with joy, love, and the recognition you so richly deserve.

Important Update Regarding Emergency Snow Days and N...
Dear HPCSD Community, As we navigate the remainder of the winter season, I am writing to provide an important update regarding our instructional calendar. While snow days often disrupt our routines and shift carefully planned schedules, our priority remains the safety of our students and staff. To date, we have exhausted all allotted emergency snow days for the current school year. This means we no longer have any “give-back” days on the calendar. Under normal circumstances, further inclement weather would require us to make up lost instructional time by adjusting upcoming breaks or extending the school year. However, due to the recent State of Emergency declarations and travel restrictions, including the significant weather events in January, the New York State Education Department (NYSED) has released new guidance. This guidance allows districts to apply for an emergency day waiver for up to two days. In the event that we require additional closures due to weather, we intend to apply for this waiver. Our goal is to use this flexibility to minimize the impact on our scheduled school break and prevent the need to add make-up days later in the year. We recognize the challenges these changes can present and thank you for your continued support in keeping our students and staff safe. Have a great weekend.
