Free Public Viewing of Screenagers: Growing Up in th...
Dear Onondaga Central School District Families, The West Genesee Central School District has graciously invited our Onondaga Central staff and families to a free public viewing of the documentary Screenagers: Growing Up in the Digital Age. This insightful hour-long film, created by physician and filmmaker Dr. Delaney Ruston, delves into the complex realities our preteens and teenagers face in today's digital world. It addresses crucial topics such as screen addiction, the impact of social media, academic performance in relation to technology use and vital online safety measures. Through compelling student stories and expert perspectives, Screenagers sheds light on the neurological effects of screen time and offers practical strategies for parents and educators to help children develop healthy technology habits. The screening will take place on Wednesday, May 28 at 6:30 p.m. in the West Genesee High School Auditorium. Following the film, there will be a brief discussion and Q&A session where we can collectively reflect on the themes presented and learn about resources available to support a balanced approach to technology within our families. We strongly encourage you to attend this important event, and we welcome you to bring your children. The film is designed to spark meaningful conversations at home about screen use, and your participation will enrich this community learning experience. You can learn more about the film and watch the trailer at www.screenagersmovie.com . This is a wonderful opportunity for our community to come together and gain valuable insights into navigating the digital age with our children. We hope to see many of you there.
