Take the Next Step Toward Your Future! 🌟 Amador Adult Ed has two upcoming courses designed to help you gain skills and build confidence to work in a classroom. Instructional Assistant Course 📅 March 24 – April 2 Tues, Wed & Thurs | 4:00–7:00 PM Learn how to become an effective Instructional Assistant, build a professional resume, strengthen interview skills, and understand the application process step-by-step. Ready? Set. Work! – Workforce Readiness 📅 March 30, April 13 & April 20 (Mondays) 🕛 9:00 AM–1:30 PM Discover your strengths, set career goals, build resume and job search skills, and practice interviewing with confidence. Staff, Student, and Family Resource Center Grand Opening 🎉 The Staff, Student, and Family Resource Center (SSFRC) is officially open! Thank you to all of the community members and partners who attended our grand opening and ribbon-cutting on Wednesday, March 4. The SSFRC is a welcoming space where staff, students, and families can access essential resources, basic needs support, and guidance to help overcome challenges and thrive. The Center is open Monday - Friday from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm and is located on 217 Rex Ave behind the district office (follow the signs). We will be open during Spring Break! Healing Arts Workshop Join us for a no cost Healing Arts Workshop where you can explore how art helps with processing emotions and past experiences. Connect with a supportive group in a warm and welcoming space, and use creativity as a tool for healing and self-discovery. 📅 Wednesday, March 11 🕛 1:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. 📍 SSFRC Participants are welcome to drop in at any time during the event. School Farm Harvest 🥬 We harvested over 300 pounds of mixed greens from the School Farm this week! The kale, lettuce, and chard were distributed to our high schools, junior high schools, and some elementary schools for their salad bars. TK & Kindergarten Enrollment Reminder
Dear Amador County Families, We are excited to welcome our newest learners for the upcoming school year. This is a reminder regarding registration for Transitional Kindergarten (TK) and Kindergarten. Please be advised that TK classes at several of our school sites are reaching capacity. To ensure your child is enrolled at your designated home school, we strongly encourage you to complete the registration process as soon as possible. For the best chance of enrolling at your home school, please submit your online registration by April 1. After this date, placement at your home school will be subject to remaining availability, and students may need to be placed at an alternative site within the district if classes are full. Visit our enrollment webpage to get all registration details and complete your online registration: https://www.amadorcoe.org/enrollment If you have already completed your registration, no further action is needed. If you have questions regarding the process or specific site availability, please contact your school’s front office. District News & Announcements ACUSD School Farm Officially Launches 🌱 This Tuesday, staff members and community members came together to celebrate the grand opening of the ACUSD School Farm. Located on Jackson Gate Road, the school farm is a culmination of months of effort from ACUSD staff members, community members, and local organizations. Attendees witnessed the official ribbon-cutting ceremony, learned about the property's history, and tasted fresh lettuce grown on the farm and harvested by students the day before. We could not be more excited to see this project officially open! We are looking forward to sharing future updates as the farm grows. Staff, Student, and Family Resource Center Grand Opening 🎉 We are excited to welcome everyone to the Staff, Student, and Family Resource Center (SSFRC) - a welcoming space where everyone can access essential resources, basic needs support, and guidance to help overcome challenges and thrive. The grand opening will be an open house, so please drop in between 9:30 am and 4:30 pm. There will be tours, a CTE culinary showcase, activities, door prizes, and more! News From the Community Common Ground Teen & Parent Group Nexus Youth & Family Services is holding a teen & parent group! Common Ground is a skills-building communication course that joins parents and teens in a creative partnership. During the course, parents and teens learn to listen respectfully, communicate honestly and openly, set and respect limits, and appreciate and honor differences. The series will be held from March 10, 2026 through April 28, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Director Surprised with Challenge Coin Superintendent Critchfield presented Joe Cruz with an ACUSD Challenge Coin. Mr. Cruz has been helping oversee our transportation department while continuing to serve as our Maintenance Director. We greatly appreciate the extra time and effort he has been putting in to keep the transportation department in order until our new Transportation Director starts in March! Pioneer Elementary Challenge Coins Three Pioneer Elementary staff members were presented with ACUSD Challenge Coins! If you want your child to attend an ACUSD elementary school for the 2026-2027 school year, you must enroll your child online through the Aeries platform. Here is what you'll need to do: 1. Find out which school your child will attend based on your home address, using our address lookup tool. 2. Go to the online enrollment portal and follow the steps listed. 3. News From the Community February is Children's Oral Health Month It’s National Children’s Dental Health Month! Want your child to have a happy and healthy smile? Free Drop-In Healing Arts Workshop We’re excited to invite you to a free Healing Arts Workshop hosted by Nexus Youth & Family Services in partnership with the ACOE/ACUSD Staff, Student, & Family Resource Center. A Window Between Worlds: This workshop offers a warm, supportive space to explore how creativity can help process emotions and past experiences. No art experience is needed—all supplies will be provided. This is a drop-in workshop, so participants are welcome to join at any time during the event. Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Training Amador County Behavioral Health offers free Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training for community members who want to learn how to better support friends, family, coworkers, and neighbors. Mental Health First Aid teaches you how to recognize signs of mental health or substance use challenges and how to respond with care and confidence. Celebrations ACUSD Farm Project - Announcement We are so excited to officially announce the ACUSD School Farm project! Our Nutrition Services team, in partnership with CalFresh Healthy Living, UCCE, and MotherLode Land Trust, has been hard at work developing a half-acre school farm pilot project at C&C Ranch in Jackson. The purpose of this farm is to grow fruits and vegetables that can be served in all school cafeteria salad bars. We are harvesting produce in the next few weeks to go into the salad bars at Amador High School and Argonaut High School, with the hope to expand to all schools later this year. This farm is also a great opportunity for students to learn more about agriculture, environmental science, and nutrition, with future opportunities for field trips and externships. Celebrations Civic Leadership at Pioneer Elementary On January 13, 2026, the Amador County Board of Supervisors approved a resolution honoring Pioneer 6th grader Kaiden Santos for his outstanding civic leadership and advocacy for the community. Kaiden led a project with his classmates to write letters to the Board of Supervisors explaining why the broken basketball hoop at Pioneer Park needed to be replaced. Kaiden also attended a Board of Supervisors meeting, where he presented the information and shared the students’ concerns. Respect Recognized at Plymouth Elementary Last week, several Plymouth Elementary students were recognized at their monthly assembly for being respectful individuals! North Star Academy Students see Broadway Show North Star Academy students and staff had an unforgettable night at The Lion King in Sacramento last week. For many students, this was their very first Broadway show, and they had the rare opportunity to enjoy it from front-row seats! Thanks to Proposition 28 arts funding, students were able to attend this incredible performance, and it was truly enjoyed by all.
