Dual Immersion application process for children ente...
Open enrollment for the 2021-2022 school year has begun. The Banning Unified School District is now accepting applications for the Dual Immersion Transitional Kindergarten Program at Florida Street Discovery Center and the Dual Immersion Kindergarten Program at Central Elementary. In order to ensure safety during the current pandemic and in order to ensure that all families are given an equitable opportunity to apply for the Dual Immersion Program, we are transitioning the Dual Immersion program applications to a lottery system accessible through the online enrollment portal. The enrollment portal can be accessed through this LINK . When enrolling new students in Transitional Kindergarten or Kindergarten, parents will be able to request Dual Immersion by selecting this as the placement in the online portal. Applications for Dual Immersion will be accepted until May 1, 2021. In order to ensure that all children have a fair chance to be accepted into these high-demand programs, parents will be invited to a public virtual lottery event which will be held on Friday, May 14 at 5:30 p.m. The lottery process is as follows: The Dual Immersion program is a model in which 50% of the students are English Language Learners and 50% are English Proficient students. Students will be placed in the lottery pool based on their language proficiency status. Student names representing each group will be printed on different color paper. All students' names will be placed in a container and drawn one at a time. Children who are not placed in the Dual Immersion program will be placed on a waiting list in order in which their name was drawn. To obtain assistance with the online application please email centralregistration@banning.k12.ca.us or (951) 922-2702. For more information on the Dual Immersion program, please click here, email moneill@banning.k12.ca.us , or vpendleton@banning.k12.ca.us or call (951) 922-2702.

The schools will be able to assist you with this starting February 22, 2021. 2. In addition, when you log into the aeries parent portal you will be prompted to complete a short survey.
