Principal's Message

Bishop's Peak students are in a groove in their classrooms and out on the playground. This year, our school maintained our focus on three school wide goals for student behavior: Take Care of Yourself, Take Care of Others, & Take Care of this Place.  I have seen many examples of students showing great examples of these behaviors around our campus.  We will be recognizing students throughout the year, with our first school-wide assembly planned for November 1st.  We are optimistic that this event will occur in our new multi-purpose room.  Our wood floor is being sanded and striped for volleyball and basketball this week.

Bishop's Peak teachers are continuing their focus on increasing the amount of time that students read "just right books."  Even if your child comes home saying that they don't have homework, we strongly encourage setting aside time every day to read at home.

Many thanks to our BBQ crew that coordinated and braved the heat at our recent Drive-Thru BBQ at Bishop's Peak. Our PTA has also been busy with our membership drive, Fall Fundraiser, and planning the annual carnival at Bishop's Peak. The carnival at Bishop's Peak goes back many decades, and we hope that all of our families can attend this event on October 18th.

Have a great week-
Dan Block

PTA News
Why all the fundraisers?
First, I want to thank everyone for their participation in our Fall PTA Week. I thoroughly enjoyed meeting many of our new families and was encouraged by the generous donations.
Why do we fundraise?
Well, over the years Bishop’s Peak Elementary school has been able to offer its students educational experiences that are above and beyond what is offered through traditional funding sources because of PTA-raised dollars. Bishop’s Peak PTA wants EVERY STUDENT to have a yearbook, have access to special curriculum or attend a life-changing study trip whether or not they have the ability to pay.
I see PTA’s function as a means to pool our community’s resources to make sure EVERY child benefits.
How can you contribute?
  • Join PTA
  • Donate to Bishop’s Peak PTA (we suggest $200 per family but are grateful for ANY amount)
  • Ask a Business to Sponsor Bishop’s Peak PTA
PTA Membership
So far we have had 28% of our families join PTA and 18% donate. Let's make those numbers grow! If you haven’t already, will you consider joining and donating today?
