PSAT & SAT WHS School Day Exam Registration Information
WHS Test Day is Tuesday, October 15th, 2024

All juniors have been registered for the PSAT - registration at Regismart is not required. The $20 exam fee for juniors has been populated into TouchBase accounts.

Registration for SAT School Day and PSAT (10th graders only) - click on the link here https://regismart.net/#/login to create an account and scroll to your student's home school to register for either the SAT School Day exam or the PSAT (if they are a 10th grader). NOTE: all Juniors take the PSAT so they do not need to register as we do a bulk registration upload for all juniors. Cost of PSAT is $20.00 and SAT is $60.00. Students are to register for their home school exam dates only (do not register to attend another schools exam date). Deadline to register is September 20th. No late registrations! We maximize the space available to us but spots are limited and fill up quickly.

Other SAT Exam Opportunities

SAT exams are also administered several times per year at other locations outside of the Northshore School District (usually on a Saturday). Students will need to establish a College Board account before they can register for these tests. It is important that the student registers with their own account, not a parent's account. Creating an account takes about 30 minutes. This is the same account that you will use if you are registering for an AP test. As these tests fill up quickly, we recommend that if you want to test at a convenient location that you sign up for the SAT early. Otherwise, you might end up taking the test at a location further away.

Registration and further information about the SAT can be found at:
PSAT
Juniors Mark Your Calendars: PSAT/NMSQT Tuesday, October 15th
In our continued commitment to our students’ college readiness and our ongoing improvement efforts, the annual PSAT/NMSQT exam will be administered to all juniors at WHS on Tuesday, October 15th during the school day with results being available in mid-December. The PSAT measures critical reading, math problem solving, and writing skills that are important for success in college and in other post-secondary pursuits and is the qualifying test juniors must take to enter the National Merit Scholarship Corporation scholarship program. The exam will be administered on-site during the course of the school day.

  • All juniors have been registered for the PSAT. Registration through RegiSmart is not required for juniors.
  • The exam fee is $20.00 and has been populated to all junior accounts and is due September 29.

STUDENT ON-CAMPUS PARKING 2024-2025
Beginning Monday, September 16, students must have a valid WHS 2024-2025 parking hanger in their car to park on the WHS campus. Students are strongly encouraged to ride the school bus or carpool for space and environmental reasons.

Parking hanger applications for the 2024-2025 school year were accepted at the end of last school year. Payment for students pre-approved to purchase a WHS parking pass can be made online through TouchBase. All fines must be paid before a parking hanger can be issued. Students who pay online should bring in their receipt of payment when picking up their parking hanger from the campus supervisor. Parking is limited and will close once all available hangers have been issued. Please contact Mr. Dillman regarding parking availability if an application was not made at the end of last school year.

Students who do not have a parking hanger on September 16 must park on the street until it is purchased. The cost of parking hangers is $50 per year/$20 per seasonal sport/activity. The purchase of a parking hanger does not guarantee students a parking space every day. All parking is on a first-come, first-served basis in designated student parking areas. Parking on the WHS campus is limited. Please see the priority parking plan below.

The parking priority plan is as follows:

  • Seniors with WANIC/Health Science/Running Start class where there is no district shuttle offered.
  • Juniors with WANIC/Health Science/Running Start class where there is no district shuttle offered.
  • Seniors who participate in after school sanctioned sports and pre-approved after school activities.
  • Juniors who participate in after school sanctioned sports and pre-approved after school activities.
  • Seniors who have waivers or work after school.
  • Remaining seniors in the lottery.

If you have questions, contact Campus Supervisor Alan Dillman at adillman@nsd.org.

Cars and Parking Lots During Options & Lunch
A reminder that students are not to be hanging out in cars or in the parking lots during options or lunch. Students were reminded of this during Falcon Days, is not a new policy, but one that we are returning to reinforcing this year for safety and supervision reasons both for students individually and for all WHS students. We will continue to remind students of this the first two days of school, but expect all students are aware of and following this policy after that.

Schedule Change Request Form
Hello Falcons!

Counselors are shifting gears from schedule changes and looking forward to working more closely with our seniors as they prepare for life after graduation. The schedule change window has now passed and student schedules are set for the semester.

As we get more into the school year with classes, clubs, sports, etc. students are starting to find and make their routines and establish priorities. We encourage you to check in with your student about what's going on in their classes, homework, and how the year is starting off. Regularly, have your student open their StudentVue account and review their grades together and set goals

Here are some ways you can direct your student to gain extra support:
  • Encourage them to stay after class briefly for help or to schedule a time to meet
  • Help them send an e-mail to their teacher with their questions or ask to meet
  • Encourage them to meet with their counselor to discuss strategies for communicating with teachers
Seniors: College application planning can be overwhelming and time consuming and we want Seniors to know we are here to support you! College Apps & Snacks will be happening this fall for students wanting the counselors' help with their college applications. Come work on your applications, essays, ask your counselor questions, and have dorm-style snacks. More info available at this link.

More College application resources:
The College Readiness and Resources page on the WHS Counseling webpage contains tons of helpful videos, resources, and links.
We created the WHS Senior Handbook to guide students through their senior year. Check it out!
The WHS School Profile is now available at this link

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is scheduled to open in December. All students applying to college will need to complete the FAFSA for the 2024-2025 school year.
Check out the WHS Common Application Tip Sheet for more helpful tips and information.

WHS Counseling website: The WHS Counseling website has a plethora of resources ranging from College and Career Readiness links and videos, Naviance and High School and Beyond details, and Mental Health resources! Check it out:  https://woodinville.nsd.org/counseling

We are thrilled to see students back on campus and enjoy meeting our underclassmen that are new to the building. We hope your student is having a great year so far and let us know how we can help!

Upcoming College Visits
ATTEND A COLLEGE VISIT at WHS!
One of the more important opportunities available this fall is the college admissions representative visits. College admissions reps from campuses across the state and country are scheduled to visit Woodinville HS to meet with interested students. We have a huge list of colleges already on the schedule and they are very excited to meet you.

This is one of the few opportunities available to meet the person who may be reading your college application, ask questions about the particular campus, and gather helpful information to use during your college research and the admission/application process.

To see an updated list of upcoming college visits, please look at the right hand side of this webpage or go into Naviance under Colleges, College Visits!

Reduced or Waived Fees 2024-25 Don't forget... families must re-apply every year!
Parents and guardians whose income falls within specified guidelines set by the U.S. Department of Agriculture should apply for free or reduced-price meals for their students. Applications were available August 1st and are due by October 14th to avoid an interruption in benefits (only one application is required per family), but families can apply at any time during the year – throughout the year.

If you qualify for Free or Reduced Meals you may also qualify for:
  • School fee waivers (a fee waiver consent form must be completed) in addition to the Free and Reduced application.
  • See below for more information or contact your school counselor (available after August 26).
  • Other services such as health insurance.
  • Contact Nurse Christie Callahan or Jennifer Gardner for more information.
The free and reduced online application only takes a few minutes and is the fastest, easiest way to get approved. Find the online application here: https://linqconnect.com/. Further information can be found on NSD’s Food Services website at https://www.nsd.org/schools/get-started/food-services/free-and-reduced-price-breakfast-lunch.

Computer
Student Device Protection Plan
The Northshore School District provides each student with a district-issued technology device. When students/families assume responsibility for a district-issued device, they sign forms agreeing to accept financial responsibility for any device damage or loss. We know accidents and loss can happen. The Student Device Protection Plan provides NSD families an optional path to mitigate the financial liability of using a district device.

PARTICIPATION COST: The standard payment to enroll in the NSD Student Device Protection Plan is $25 per year; free for students who have qualified for free or reduced-price meals and who have provided consent to share their status for fee waivers. No refunds will be given once enrolled in this program.

COVERAGE AND BENEFIT: This program covers the device (Chromebook, Macbook, or iPad) loaned to your student against accidental damage for the school year. This program does NOT cover damage resulting from misuse or neglectful loss of the device. We expect all students to properly use their device and to secure it when it is not being used. If the device is used improperly or is not secured while the student is not using it, families will be expected to pay the full cost of replacement or repair.
For more information, please view our website https://woodinville.nsd.org/resources/technology-support#fs-panel-119716.

Passes Required for Elevator Use
As we start the 2024-2025 school year please note that in order to use the elevator, students are required to check out an elevator pass in the Main Office with Mrs. Benedict.

The ONLY students who should be using the elevator are students with medical conditions. If a student is seen using the elevator without a pass that has been checked out, they will receive progressive discipline.

Bus Passes for the 2024-2025 School Year
We are not able to provide bus passes at this time. Load counts on buses can not be assessed until all eligible riders have had the opportunity to ride their bus. Student enrollment has increased which puts school buses at or close to capacity. Therefore, Bus Passes will not be approved for the first month and a half of school until we are able to properly assess available seats.

Attendance Updates for 2024-25
Student IDs Required for Late Arrivals
Students arriving late MUST scan their free WHS student ID cards or have their StudentVUE App open at the Attendance Office to receive their late arrival pass. The Attendance Office will have an iPad where students will scan their WHS student ID cards to receive their printed pass to take to class with them.

If your student does not have their WHS student ID card or a phone to login to their StudentVUE account, they will have the ability to login to StudentVUE on the iPad at the Attendance Office.

Thank you for reminding your student to come prepared and ready to show their WHS student ID card when arriving late to school. It helps keep things moving quickly.

TouchBase
TOUCHBASE: Access to Make Online Payments, View Account Balance & Payment History
TouchBase is a web-based application that allows parents/guardians with the ability to make payments online and view their student’s account balance and payment history. Although cash, checks, and debt/credit cards are accepted at the Cashier’s Office and Main Office at WHS, making payments online through TouchBase is a constant 24/7 method of payment available for our families.

The link to make online payments at TouchBase can be found on the WHS homepage at woodinville.nsd.org under “Resources>Payments”. Like ParentVUE, where parents/guardians check student grades, usernames and passwords for Leota Middle School and Timbercrest Middle School students remain the same and carry forward to WHS and if a parent/guardian has more than one student, the TouchBase login information will provide access to all of their students’ accounts.

Parents/Guardians in need of their assigned TouchBase username and password should email whsattendance@nsd.org. We are unable to provide the information over the phone.

ParentVUE
Title goes here
ParentVUE is a web-based application that provide parents and guardians with information regarding their student via a secure website.
  • ParentVUE allows parents and guardians to view grades including grades for specific assignments. Please consult with your students’ teacher(s) for more information on the specific reports they post.
  • Students access their information via StudentVUE, a separate web-based application, and are provided with their own username and password. Parents/Guardians must not share their login information to their ParentVue account with their student, as ParentVUE accounts afford parents/guardians with the ability to change their demographic and contact information.
The link to ParentVUE can be found on the WHS homepage at woodinville.nsd.org under “Resources”. Parents and guardians are provided with an Activation Key to then establish their username and password. If a parent/guardian has more than one student, this login information will provide access to all of their students throughout NSD. Usernames and passwords for Leota Middle School and Timbercrest Middle School students remain the same and carry forward to Woodinville High School.

Where do parents/guardians new to WHS obtain their ParentVUE Activation Key?
If you are a parent/guardian who is new to WHS and need an Activation Key to establish a username and password to access ParentVUE there are two options:
  1. Appear in person at the WHS Attendance Office, show ID, and pick up the Activation Key or
  2. Send an email request with your student’s name to whsattendance@nsd.org requesting the information. The email address will be confirmed and the information will then be emailed to the parent/guardian.
We apologize for the inconvenience; however, Activation Keys cannot be provided verbally over the phone due to the sensitivity of the information involved.

Forgot your ParentVUE username and password?
Contact our Attendance Secretary, Julie Leong at whsattendance@nsd.org.
