Dear Timbercrest Families,

I hope you have enjoyed a rejuvenating summer and are excited for a wonderful school year ahead. Our staff is eagerly preparing for the first day, and we cannot wait to welcome our students back.

As I begin my third year at TMS, I continue to be inspired by the strong foundation of excellence our community has built. At Timbercrest we are committed to continually finding new ways to ensure every learner feels supported, valued, and empowered to thrive both academically and personally.

Several years ago, I was introduced to the concept of the “Third Place,” coined by sociologist Ray Oldenburg and popularized by Starbucks. It describes a place beyond home (the first place) and work (the second place) where people gather, connect, and build community.

For middle school students, home is their “first place,” and school is often their “second place.” At Timbercrest, our goal is to make the school feel like a community inspired by this concept, where students experience genuine connection and belonging. That sense of belonging grows through the meaningful relationships we build with students, families, and one another.

This shared community is what makes Timbercrest unique and drives the success we see in our classrooms. Together, we will continue to nurture an environment where every student feels seen, supported, and challenged to reach their fullest potential.

We are excited for a fantastic year ahead with you and our students!

Warmest Regards,
Matt Wallace

  • Students will quickly move down the sidewalk to the courtyard and head to class.

Counselor's Corner

Counseling image
Dear Timbercrest Middle Families,

We hope you had a wonderful summer and are as excited as we are to begin a new school year at Timbercrest. Our counseling team is excited to partner with you and your child during this important stage of growth and transition.
Middle school is a unique and exciting time—full of opportunities to explore new subjects, build friendships, and develop skills that will carry into high school and beyond. Along the way, students may also encounter challenges as they adjust to new expectations and experiences. That’s where we come in.
As school counselors, our role is to support students both academically and socially–emotionally. We help them navigate changes, set goals, build confidence, and access resources so they feel safe, supported, and ready to succeed. By creating a strong foundation at the start of middle school, we aim to empower each student to reach their fullest potential throughout their journey here at Timbercrest.

All 7th graders must have an up-to-date TDap vaccine or an exemption in place before the first day of school to be able to start on the first day of school. If you have not scheduled your student for this vaccine or filed for an exemption yet, you are running out of time.
