Hello Haddonfield Friends Community!
We have so much to be grateful for at HFS: A diverse learning community that honors and nurtures the whole child in mind, body and spirit; an environment that inspires an insatiable curiosity to learn, and encourages our students to approach learning opportunities with excitement and a healthy optimism about themselves and the world; students who are nurtured in the SPICES and will ultimately strive to peacefully solve our world’s ever-changing challenges through the practices of service, mediation and experiential learning here at HFS.
We are also grateful for the generosity of our HFS community, which enables us to realize our mission to prepare joyful and inquisitive young minds to carry the light of confidence, creativity, critical thinking and stewardship in a diverse community of learners. Last year, Haddonfield Friends School raised over $69,000 through our Annual Fund appeal and we thank you for your support in helping us achieve that milestone. With your help, HFS has:
Improved our Math in Focus/Singapore Math curriculum with the addition of a Supplemental Math Teacher, who is a Singapore Math Expert
Assigned 1:1 Chromebooks to each of our 3rd and 4th-grade students
Acquired a new 3D Printer to enhance student learning, including a 3D Printing & Coding Club offering in the fall
Purchased new playground equipment, arriving Spring of 2019, for both the ECC and main school playgrounds with enough recreational space for an additional 31 children to play simultaneously.
Looking ahead, we have plans to add more community-based instruction, guest lecturers, and innovative service projects; make upgrades and enhancements to STEAM initiatives and more improvements to the physical plant. We will also utilize these funds to ensure that our school is filled with a diverse group of learners who share a love of Quaker Education. Such goals are the reasons why your participation in the Annual Fund is so crucial.
Our mission is simple: We are seeking 100% participation from parents, faculty, staff, and Board members as well as an increase in alumni participation. We have an ambitious goal of $100,000 this year, and we are already 19% of the way to that target. While the size of your donation is important and we encourage you to be as generous as possible, we need your participation at any level to realize our aspirations.
Please join me in celebrating HFS and in supporting our mission. I can assure you that your generosity to Haddonfield Friends School will bear rich fruit, for a Quaker Education is a meaningful investment that lasts a lifetime!
