Dear HFS Families, Grandparents, Friends & Alumni,
We are almost through the first trimester of the school year, and the leaves are showing their beautiful pageantry of colors. Your family is back in the engaging and productive Haddonfield Friends School (HFS) community routine of rekindled friendships, seeing some new faces, field trips, creative projects, and after-school clubs and activities. Perhaps, you as a parent are being reminded about why you chose to enroll your child(ren) at HFS in the first place. I hope that you are inspired again at how HFS takes seriously the trust you have placed in us, and follows through on its commitment by investing itself fully in the education and values of your child. Never has teaching peace, mediation, and critical thinking been more important, which is why we turn to one another each year to sustain and grow this community together.
Just as Haddonfield Friends School is investing in your child, your family and our community, we need you to invest in the school and right now, the Annual Fund needs your help. The Annual Fund provides the unrestricted funding that we need to enrich our programs because tuition does not cover the full cost of a Haddonfield Friends School education. Every year, donations to the Annual Fund expand the experiences of our children by supporting academic and extracurricular programs, enabling the school to recruit and retain excellent teachers, and helping students who might otherwise not be able to afford a Haddonfield Friends School education.
Last year, Haddonfield Friends School raised over $37K towards the Annual Fund and we thank you for your support in achieving that milestone. With your help, HFS has continued to improve its educational offerings and the infrastructure in ways seen and unseen:
· The Early Childhood Center has two certified teachers in every classroom with challenging academics and hands-on art, music, Spanish, and physical education.
· The Lower School Division added a MakerSpace area, new community-based instruction experiences, and projects.
· The Middle School is thriving with a unique new electives program (photography, newspaper, Chinese Yo-Yo, Mandarin), Student Leadership initiatives, and Model United Nations, just to name a few of the exciting offerings our students enjoy as part of their HFS experience.
We have plans to revitalize our entire mathematics program, and are adding more fall, and spring after-school clubs based on parent feedback and student interest! All of these goals make your participation in the Annual Fund is so critical.
Our goal is simple. We seek 100% participation from parents, faculty, staff, and the Board, as well as an increase in alumni participation. We have an ambitious goal of $100,000 this year; and we are 17% to that target. While the size of your donation is important and we encourage you to be generous, we need your help to realize our aspirations.
Please join me in celebrating HFS and in supporting our mission to empower students to achieve their personal best and live their lives with conscience, integrity and compassion. Quaker Education is a meaningful investment that lasts a lifetime!
