Hello Haddonfield Friends Community!
We have so much to be grateful for at HFS: A learning community that honors every child and nurtures both academic and spiritual growth; An environment that inspires curiosity and wonder, and encourages our students to use inquiry and advocacy to ask and respond to questions; Students who are nurtured in the SPICES, which provide them with a strong foundation to live lives that make a difference; A home where our children are safely learning how to be contributing citizens in the 21st century through the practices of service, mediation, and experiential problem solving.
We are also grateful for the generosity of our HFS community, which enables us to realize our mission of providing a strong academic program in an atmosphere of mutual respect, inspiring students to achieve their personal best while empowering them to live their lives with conscience, integrity, and compassion. Last year, Haddonfield Friends School raised over $67,000 through our Annual Fund appeal and we thank you for your support in helping us achieve that milestone. With your help, HFS has:
Upgraded our entire math curriculum to Math in Focus, based on the principles and skills of Singapore Math. This program is delivered by our teachers who have acquired 60+ training hours and are engaged in ongoing training and professional development
Assigned Chromebooks to each of our Middle School students, greatly enhancing their classroom experiences
Sustained new after-school clubs, middle school electives and more hands-on projects and materials for our Early Childhood Classrooms and MakerSpace!
Looking ahead, we have plans to expand our Middle School counselor role; add more community-based instruction via field trips, guest lecturers, and innovative service projects; and lastly continue facility and school improvements, including an updated playground! We will also utilize these funds to ensure that our school is filled with a diverse group of students who share a love of Quaker Education. Such goals are the reasons why your participation in the Annual Fund is so crucial.
Our mission is simple: We are seeking 100% participation from parents, faculty, staff, and Board members as well as an increase in alumni participation. We have an ambitious goal of $100,000 this year, and we are already 17% of the way to that target. While the size of your donation is important and we encourage you to be as generous as possible, we need your participation at any level to realize our aspirations.
Please join me in celebrating HFS and in supporting our mission. I can assure you that your generosity to Haddonfield Friends School will bear rich fruit, for a Quaker Education is a meaningful investment that lasts a lifetime!
