Sunnyside Annual Fund 2023!
The Sunnyside PTA is excited to kick off our biggest fundraiser of the year – the Annual Fund – with the goal of raising $225,000. This drive is the majority of our PTA fundraising goal, and we need your help to succeed and reach that goal by November 5. Overall, the PTA budget needs to raise nearly $750 per student at our school to meet the fundraising budget for this year. This amount is about 50% higher than we’ve asked in previous years because of some exciting, significant renovations to the schoolyard that we’re hoping to fund, so please consider being extra generous.
The funds we raise add additional staff, resources, and events not fully funded by our school site budget from SFUSD. Many of the special events and programs would only exist with the generous donations from our community to the Sunnyside PTA. Funds raised by the community contribute to:
Classroom support and partial salaries for key staff
Wellness support and additional recess activities
Community Events such as Art Cart Projects, Halloween Carnival, Fall Fest, and Gardening
Diversity & Inclusion events and performances and culturally responsive art projects
In addition, we hope to raise additional funds this year to support two significant improvements to the schoolyard -- we’re planning on revamping the play structure and installing a modern turf soccer field in the back of the yard. We’re thrilled to announce that we have received a generous grant from the District 7 supervisor’s office for this project. However, we will need at least $65,000 from the Annual Fund to make them a reality. We’re really excited about these, but we need to raise enough to maintain the existing PTA activities first, so please consider making a more significant donation than usual.
Our families span a wide range of income levels, and we ask that you donate at a level that is comfortable for you. Every dollar matters, and no donation is too small. All Annual Fund contributions are fully tax-deductible. Our goal is 100% participation, which would send an important message to our students and teachers that every family is invested in the success of our school.

Online: You can use PayPal to make a donation online. You can opt for a single donation or recurring smaller monthly contributions.
Request a company match: Many small and large employers will match your donation. Check with your human resources department to see if they offer a corporate matching program.
