🍊 The Annual Give 2024-2025 fundraising campaign

Dear Dragon Families,

We hope your family is settling into the school year smoothly. This  new year has brought so much excitement for our children - you can see their joy every day on the schoolyard!

For parents and caregivers, however, the year has also started with some uncertainty and frustration around school closures, mergers, and co-locations within the SFUSD. Despite these challenges, there’s one constant: our community. It’s the families, the teachers, and our dedicated volunteers who provide vital support to McCoppin, ensuring that the programs and activities that make our school so special continue to thrive.

No matter what’s happening across the district, McCoppin is our school, our kids, and our place. That’s why it’s more important than ever to keep up our momentum through our Annual Give fundraising campaign, which runs through the first 100 days of the school year (ending in January).

Right now, we don’t have enough funds to cover all the planned activities for the academic year. To ensure that nothing is cut, we need your support. Your contributions, of any amount, directly go to:

  • Classroom supplies and materials for teachers and students

  • Enriching programs like outdoor education and LEAP arts

  • Services for our PreK Special Day class, a social worker, and a speech pathologist

  • Community engagement and belonging activities through our Social and DEI committees

  • The ParentSquare app, which keeps our school community connected

  • Space improvements like the newly installed turf field in the schoolyard and the upgraded Book Nook in the multipurpose room

  • Signature school events like the Fall Festival, Winter Holidays, and Lunar New Year celebrations

Our goal is to raise $88,000, and we need your help to ensure we can offer all of these programs as planned. Whatever amount you are able to give, know that your donations make a real difference. If you used to pay for preschool tuition, consider giving the equivalent of one or two months’ worth—it’s a great way to continue supporting your child’s education. Also, don’t forget to check if your employer offers matching gift programs. Many Bay Area companies will match your donation, doubling or even tripling your impact.

And when we reach our goal, we’ll show SFUSD what our community is capable of. Just like our new turf soccer field, McCoppin’s future is bright and green! With your support, we can keep it that way for our kids.

Thank you for your consideration and a huge thank you to those who have already contributed. You are already making an impact!

Warmly,

FMES PTO Fundraising Committee - Rozie Wong Gillies & Rosie Dillon
