Accessibility at ParentSquare
Focus on Inclusive Engagement
At ParentSquare, we believe equity begins with access. We are dedicated to providing accessible experiences to everyone, including individuals with disabilities. We view accessibility not as a checklist, but as an ongoing commitment to inclusive design and continuous improvement.
Commitment to Accessibility Standards
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) are the technical standards referenced by the U.S. Department of Justice under Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990.
The US Department of Justice policy mandates that state and local governments comply with the WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards by April 2026*. We are dedicated to ensuring that our platform conforms to these standards by the deadline.
In addition, various states will be mandating compliance with the WCAG 2.2 Level AA standards. We are dedicated to ensuring that our platform conforms with these standards by July 2026.
Our platform is designed to help our district customers meet their obligations under Section 504 and Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.
To deliver on our accessibility commitments:
- We design, develop, and test our platform with accessibility in mind.
- We regularly evaluate our platform against WCAG standards using both automated and
manual testing methods. - We engage accessibility professionals to review and advise on improvements.
- Our team continuously updates our content, technology, and design practices to reflect
evolving accessibility standards and user needs.
*We are aware of the Interim Final Rule published by the US Department of Justice extending these compliance deadlines. We remain dedicated to ensuring that our platform conforms to these standards on the original timeline.
“The experience within ParentSquare’s communication and website capabilities has significantly improved communication between schools and families. ParentSquare is incredibly user-friendly, with built-in ADA compliance tools and automatic translation features that accommodate our diverse community.”
